millie's pov:-
i walked through the school corridor after y/n told me she'd teach me how to drive, and i was too excited about it.
i sat back in my classes, not really paying attention to any of them. the day dredged by and finally there was the lunch break.
i sat down at our usual table for lunch and soon noah and sadie joined me.
"hey", noah said to me.
"hi"
"so, how's it going with y/n?", noah asked me, raising his eyebrows.
"pretty good", i said nodding my head. i saw sadie frown a bit from my side.
"something you wanna say?", i asked her.
"um...kinda", she started.
"tell me"
"millie, are you sure that...y/n is the right fit for you? you two just seem like you come from completely different worlds", sadie said to me and i could not help but notice that there was a bit of truth to it.
i stayed silent, thinking.
"i mean, we love you and all but sadie does kinda have a point though. she's like a wild, mystery person and you're so calm and reserved", noah said to me, supporting sadie. i bit my lip and then smiled to get the mood lighter.
"well, then i guess its true what they say. opposites do attract.", i cracked a joke.
"and you're sure she's attracted to you?", sadie abruptly asked me, her face serious.
"i mean, i dont know yet but-", i started but sadie cut me off.
"should you really be trusting her though? did you ever notice how she stares at me? its like she's plotting my murder in her head", she asked me once again.
"sadie, i-", i reflexively went to defend y/n.
"dont bother. its fine. just stay careful", sadie warned me. her tone almost sounded like she wanted to keep me away from y/n. did y/n and sadie know each other from before? did something ever happen between them? if not, why were y/n and sadie to weird around each other?
"NEVERMIND.", noah said trying to melt away the tension.
"ok", sadie said. i remained silent.
"dont forget its choco mania day today", noah reminded us.
"um, like the ice cream parlour choco mania?", sadie asked noah. he slowly a nodded a yes .
"please dont tell me you forgot, we've been going there every month for years now", noah said to sadie.
"i was, uh, thinking if we could try something new? like we've been doing the same thing for years and soon we're gonna move away to college anyway, so i was thinking-", sadie said but stopped midway.
"you want to break our tradition?", noah softly asked sadie.
"thats not what i-", sadie started but sighed instead.
"look i want to make these last few months here memorable and...different. after that, no one knows what direction all three of us will go. isn't it better to not have any regrets?", sadie said to noah.
"look, you may be right but...i think its better to stick to tradition. because, just like you said, who knows where we might end up? that's why i want to have a constant...for when we look back to our old times in high school. and i think we should keep going to our favourite ice cream parlour...for old times sake", noah put his perspective forward.
