millie's pov:-

"what? it's true, gaten's always liked pineapples on his pizza", finn said, smiling.

"who likes pineapple on pizza", maeve said, a look of disapproval on her face.

"me apparently", gaten said.

"hey", y/n said, sidling up to me.

"hi", i said, smiling at her.

"you like our crew?", she asked me, out of the blue.

"this entire week, and you decided to ask me that now?", i asked her, chuckling.

"...yup, i clearly need to work on my small talk", she said, nodding her head, eyes roaming the room.

"that you do", i said.

"mhm"

"but hey, you can do anything you put your mind to", i said, gently bumping her with my shoulder. she gave a short laugh.

"flattery", she said.

"no, i mean it", I said to her. she gave me a look.

"i really do", I told her, smiling again.

"hey, how's your dad? you know...after not finding us there at the mall", y/n asked me. i let my gaze fall on my feet.

"well...i wasn't really meant to know about it. like i said, overheard him on the phone. so he acts normal around me; but when he's on his own, he certainly seems grumpier and short tempered than usual", i said to her. she gave me a slow nod, her eyes lost. like she was analysing everything i just said to her.

"well, speaking of dad, i gotta go home now. pretty late anyways", i said to her which seemed to snap her out of her thoughts.

"oh, right, yes"

"see you tomorrow", i said to her.

"yeah, see you", she said, nodding.

i turned around to leave.

"leaving already?", maeve said to me from behind. i turned back around

her mouth was hanging half open. her face did not have the usual hint of sarcasm. instead there was a hint of desperation in her voice.

"yeah it's getting late. wouldn't want to make my dad wonder about where i am and lead me to all of you", i said to them.

"right. you better leave then", maeve said, the general sarcastic smile coming back up.

"yep. good night, y'all"

"night"

i walked out into the cold night, hands in my pockets. y/n had offered to drive me so many times but i always refused. what if my dad found out? who knew what he was up to?

"i'll get you the next batch soon", i suddenly heard a familiar voice say in a hushed whisper.

"you better. if not, you and your crew are going down", a deeper, more masculine voice said. i furrowed my brows, turning my head and searching for the source of the voices.

suddenly my eyes caught movement in one of the smaller alleys nearby. i strained my eyes to catch the identity of the person.

"you better not say this to anyone. not one word to the crew about this", the first voice whispered.

"heard one of your lapdogs already know about it? which one was it? maeve? ximena? was it y/n? or was it your son, what was his name again...ah, finn. which one was it?", the masculine voice grumbled, his volume low still.
