•CHAPTER 2- Gold
*ZAYN'S POV*
The only thing I could register in my mind at the moment was: "I hate my life right now. I hate it." Obviously, that's something I would never mean, but that's how it felt right now, and that's how it was gonna stay. Harry looked over at me. "Zayn, I know you're not happy with this whole Perrie thing, but visiting my friend will definitely take your mind off it. Who knows, you might even get to shag a few lucky college chicks." He winked. First of all, "not happy" was an understatement. Perrie had cheated on me, dumped me in public before I could, THEN, if that wasn't enough, three months later, she does this whole fake thing about how horrible I was in an interview to save her image and destroy mine. Yeah. "Not happy"? More like "I wanna kill that bitch and destroy her remains slowly but surely". That was definitely out of the question, though. But, Harry might be right. A few good shags might distract me from the problem at hand.
We were on our way to Bristol University, just a few hours outside of London, to help out with a professor friend of Harry's "Advanced Vocal" class, just to show the students a few pointers and to explain to them what it was like like in the big fat world of music. I was really glad that this was a sort of last minute call so no one knew we were coming, because, no offense, the school would be in pandemonium, and I was so tired of getting all of this constant hate.
We finally arrived at the school, but I was so deep in thought, I didn't even notice when we stopped. "Zaynie-poo? You getting out now?", Harry spoke from outside of the car. "Oh. Yeah... sorry." It was already pretty late at night, probably most classes were over right about now. Harry had told me we were staying at his friend's on-campus flat while we were here, but we wouldn't be seeing much of him, since he also helps with youth and adult vocal at night. As soon as we got onto the main area of campus, I stared in horror. There were so many people here I could have screamed. Of course, a girl with skimpy clothes and the ugliest hair I'd ever seen squealed and pointed our way. "OH MY GOOOOOOD! IT'S HARRY FUCKING STYLES AND ZAYN FUCKING MALIK!", she shouted. God. COULD she be any louder? People started flocking our way and ask for autographs and such. As we were in the middle of this, a guy yelled my way, "Hey! Zayn! How's it feel to be the guy that broke Perrie Edwards' heart?" I looked at him with the deadliest of death glares as he slowly backed away from the crowd. Even though no one joined in on the conversation, I decided I was just done. I started walking away from all of the people, and I heard Harry and a few fans call my name, but I just started running.
I run for what seems like hours, but was probably a few minutes, but I didn't wang to stop. It was starting to get quite dark, and I figured I should go and try to find Harry now. I started to round this corner in front of student flat buildings, and my body suddenly hit some sort of object, no, make that several objects, that started flying everywhere. The original object started cursing at me. "That's my whole first day's work right there!", her American voice sounded.
The first thing I noticed wasn't the eyes, which were a mesmerizing emerald green, but the hair, a beautiful shade of white gold, cascading down her whole upper body. She was absolutely gorgeous, without a doubt, one of the prettiest girls I'd ever seen, and that's saying something. "I am really sorry, I was in such a hurry-" I was interrupted. "I don't give a fat shit! You should really look where you're going!" She looked furious, tired, but most of all, she still looked like a picture with a beautiful gold frame. I think she was starting to realize how rude she was being, because her eyes softened. "Oh... I'm so sorry. I didn't mean that. I... you didn't even damage anything." I couldn't stop myself from memorizing her features. I picked up her student ID card, as I had most of her things, and saw her name. "So, it's Rebecca? Unless this is someone else's card.", I joked. " "Oh... uhm... yeah." I stepped closer. Wow. She was a knockout. "I'm Zayn."
