This one shot is a bit different from what I'm used to write. Instead of writing about a singular day / event, this one jumps in the timeline a few times to depict the evolution of the relationship. Also, part one Dio. Enjoy!

It was a cold late December afternoon. It was already quite dark when (Y/N) went to the cemetery to visit their father. Or rather... his grave. An icy wind blew through their hair and they had to pull their scarf a little tighter around their neck. It was cold, so cold, and despite their heavy clothes, they were shivering. But it certainly would not take too long. Slowly, they let their feet guide them between the tombstones, as if they knew the way on their own without having to think. Dead, frozen leaves crunched under their feet, the only sounds that could still be heard in this heavy silence. But as they approached their father, they noticed that a young boy their age was already there, standing in front of the nearest grave. Without a word, (Y/N) greeted him with a slight nod as they met his amber eyes. But despite the warmth of the color in his eyes, the look he gave them was cold, so cold. Just as cold as the weather. But anything else would have been surprising in such a place. (Y/N) quickly glanced at the name carved in a makeshift grave: Dario Brando. This name was unknown to them, so they just as quickly looked away to squat in front of their own father's grave and sweep away some dead leaves with a wave of their hand. And even if they could still feel the boy's cold gaze on them, they preferred to ignore it to whisper.

"Good evening, father."

The only answer was a gust of wind with morbid sounds. And the blond boy next to them kept staring at them, interfering in this moment of intimacy. (Y/N) frowned, a slight frustration starting to creep in their throat. So they turned their head to face this overly intrusive boy.

"Can I help you?

-... is that your father?"

Silence. (Y/N) looked at the name engraved on their father's grave, before returning his attention to the young man.

"Indeed.

-Then mine is right next to yours."

This time, (Y/N) laid eyes on this Dario Brando's grave. They nodded slowly, before getting up, meeting the teenager's amber gaze again.

"I am very sorry for your loss.

- Oh no, he does not deserve that much respect. He was the shittiest asshole there ever was."

(Y/N) 's throat tightened. It was clearly not the kind of speech they would expect to hear in such a place. And the boy's voice was so filled with hate that (Y/N) shuddered. How could one be so young but look so miserable?

"I am really sorry to hear that...

- Tsk, sure..."

The young man was clearly not convinced of the sincerity of their words. After all, they did not know each other, how could they really be sorry? (Y/N) pulled on their coat a little more tightly, a great shiver running through their spine. And then they whispered, so that no one but this blonde and the tombstones around could hear their next words.

"Now that he is gone... I hope you can find some peace. And live your life happily and freely."

And without another word, they turned on their heels. But behind their back, they felt the teenager's sharp gaze piercing through their neck like the blade of a knife. And as they were about to pass the cemetery gate, they heard a distant voice cursing a little more about this Dario Brando whom they did not know, but whom they nevertheless knew to be a most miserable man.
