There were three girls and three boys, every team was equal, every life was the same dull grey era where all was a hazey yellow track of endless running to find nothing at the end. A pot of gold was a fable long lost and as I ran, I could never find any reason to. The teams were clearly set to be equal for the boys since girls were soon to be at the Birthing Start, therefore we needed to be in peak condition.
None of the boys could outrun, out jump or outsmart a girl before the Start. It was like a flip of the senses, girls were held in the highest of rankings, a palace of luxury, nothing ever went wrong.
One girl leaped toward the starting line, haze clouding around her senses, nowhere to run. Endless, Endless. Endless? What is endless, what is forever, eternal, un-comprehendible even for a human mind, inconceivable. A palace of luxury meaning nothing and a homeless shack is everything. She finished last, they would come and pick her up in 10 minutes, memorizing rules, step one.
