Welcome home

Gray and Natsu were led into a small room. The only thing here was a broken desk and a love seat. It was explained that no one knew where to put them. The school was set up by the different shifters. Plant, sky, Agua, land etc. Then within these sections were the various abilities. Such as with the dragon shifters. It was set up with ice, fire, lightning, metal and so on.
So, what do you do with a pair that go against the natural flow of the elements? Where do you put an ice mage and a fire dragon? The other fire dragon Knights would hound the ice mage mercilessly. Gray would have no peace. The same would happen to Natsu if you put a fire dragon in with a bunch of ice dragons. The school had no idea how to handle this situation.
For now they were in the admission building stuck in this tiny room. Natsu was becoming impatient as he tugged at the restrictive clothing he always hated to ware. Gray was smirking at him.
"Look just change already. I'll turn my back if you need me too." He chuckled. Natsu looked over at him. His long legs were clad in black pants. He wore the jacket but it hung open to reveal a white shirt, that was practically see through.
"Fine turn away." The fire dragon demanded. He pulled out his usually outfit. It wasn't very clean since he hadn't had any time to wash it in a while. Lose fitting white pants that came to just below his knees, sandals, and a black sleeveless over coat. The last bit of material was a striped white scarf. Natsu sighed happily. He was glad to be back in the more comfortable attire.
"Are you done yet?" Grey demanded.
"Yes." Natsu said. Gray turned. He snickered.
"And you yell at me about being half dressed. Zip up that shirt." He teased. Yet there had been just a moment when Natsu had sworn there was another emotion the boy was covering up. Was it fear, disgust, worry? Natsu had lost a lot of muscle mass while on that train. It was the one thing he needed to work on. Proper nutrition and a normal workout routine would have him back in shape in no time. He huffed.
Still no one came to the door. Both boys and Exceed had been up all night. Natsu yawned. He sat on the love seat. Gray was in the window. All you could see out it was the thick band of trees behind the school. Natsu rested his head on his hand. Happy curled up in his lap. Gray smiled.
He wouldn't tell the pink haired hot head, but damn did he look good. Gray had taken in his physique. Noting what Gildarts had seen in the dragon. It wasn't as pronounced in the boy. He was thinner than he had been. The ice mage could tell with how his body sagged. Getting up Grey walked over to them. He meant to only find something to cover them up with.
When he failed at that he had sat down beside them taking the over large coat off. He laid his head on the back of the seat, as close to the pink head as he could. Curling around them he covered all three of them up with a part of the coat. Soon the room was filled with the soft snoring of the pair.
A loud alarm was sounding. The boys woke up slowly. Blinking at each other through the fog they found themselves in. Waving their hands to try and clear the thick white/ blue mist, both looking perplexed. There was pounding on the door. It was hacked open. In a swoosh of air most of the mist evaporated.
"What is going on in here?" Erza yelled her fire sword in hand.
"I don't know, I was sleeping." Natsu yelled back.
"Uh, so was I." Gray whispered. Ur laughed behind them. She was still at the school since she knew the dean of students. She often brought kids here if she thought they would become Knights.
"Oh no, you fell asleep on each other?" she snorted trying to stop her laughter. "No wonder the room was filled with smoke."
"I didn't do anything!" Natsu cried.
"Not directly." Ur explained. Behind her stood Lyon and the school officials. "You are a fire dragon. You're core temperature is hotter than a normal person's. Gray is an ice mage. He is used to being in cold environments. The two of you so close together, you're bodies were trying to keep you at the temperature you are accustomed. The longer you slept the more they fought with each other. Creating the mist that set of the smoke detectors." She explained chuckling all the way through her speech.
"Oh." The boys mumbled.
"Well, we did find you a place to stay." The official stated. "It just won't be ready for a few days." She explained.
"Gray, you guys can come stay at the cabin until it's ready. The school is on break anyway." Ur stated.
"But it took us two days to get here. By the time we get back to the cabin it will be time to just turn around and come back." Gray whined.
"Um, I can get us there in probably a few hours." Natsu stated scratching at his face. Gray turned to look at him. His face a mask of wonder.
"Oh yeah!" Lyons and him both cried. They hated the long trek over the mountain. Ur sighed.
"Lunch is ready, then you may go. We will send word once your place is ready. " the Guild master, as the dean stated she preferred to be called, told them. Her name was Mavis. She looked like a doll with how tiny she was and the long blonde hair that hung in waves down her thin frame.
They were led outside. A huge barbecue was going on. There were all sorts of meats, breads, desserts and other food. Natsu loaded up several plates and went to eat. Gray growled at him to not eat too much and make himself sick. The pair sat beside each other and argued about everything. From the way Natsu held his arms while he ate, to how loud Gray was at chewing, to the way Natsu sniffed everything first, to how Gray kept taking his clothes off. This only ended when Erza yelled at them.
After an hour or so, they were ready. Walking out to an open field Natsu transformed. Another dragon walked up to them. This one was large and pure white. It had deep blue electric eyes. Mavis patted it on the leg.
"This is Sting and That one is Rogue." She pointed to a slightly smaller black dragon who looked to be the shadow of the first one. "Together they are known as the twin dragons. Neither has a Knight, but they have bonded with each other. They are very unique as well. " Mavis smiled. "I have asked them to assist you. Since you have been so poorly taken care of. Gray will ride with you, the others will split up on these two." She informed everyone.
"I think not." Erza stated. With a swift leap she landed on Natsu's back. "I ride with him, get on ice mage, or fly with happy." In the end, Gray flew his dragon behind the tamer. He wondered if he would ever be allowed to fly alone with him.
'Any time you want!' Natsu snorted. Gray thought about the isolated cabin in the mountains where he had been living since he was a child. His recollections of the land marks and places around that he found while out training, guided the dragon shifter easily over the tall peaks.
The sun was glowing brightly beside them as they came in over the still snowy mountain tops. Suddenly Gray pointed out the first of the landmarks. A face in the rock. He had never seen it from this way before, but knew it was the mark that led to their cabin. With this he was able to guide the beast below him into an open field. The grass was a deep rich green here. The sun warm on the beasts back.
Natsu landed, letting his riders off as he shifted to make room for the other dragons to land. Sting turned into a handsome man with blond hair. He wore blue tunic and lose pants. He too had his shirt open. This made Gray snort asking if all dragons were show offs.
"We do not like to be confined." Rogue said as he transformed. He was a little smaller than his mate. His dark hair flopped over one piercing eye. It scanned their location with scorn.
"We do not wish to take up any more of your time." He stated turning away to the open sky.
"You could stay for dinner?" Ur offered. Rogue had already transformed and was hovering in the sky.
"Thank you, but we will eat on the way home. Rogue doesn't like to be so far from familiar territory." Sting bowed, transforming as he jumped off of the cliff.
"Huh." Was all Ur said. She gasped as Natsu swayed on his feet. Gray saw how exhausted his dragon was. He caught him before he fell over.
"It's not far." He told the shifter, but light snores were already coming from the pink haired teen. Gray smirked. He lifted his new bond mate into his arms. "Guess it is time for me to carry you." He then looked around for Happy. Erza picked the blue furry cat like creature up.
"They are so alike." She chuckled carrying the small body as she followed Ur to their home. Lyons walked behind them as Gray moved to walk with the tamer. Their eyes never rested until they made it to the cabin nestled safely in the mountainside.
Natsu woke up to the sound of a crackling fire and the smell of cooking meat. His mouth watering he sat up. He was in a room he had never seen before. Wood was everywhere. He gasped kicking off the blankets. How did he get here? He shouldn't be here. He tried to get free and open the door.
"Relax, your not going to burn the place down." A sleepy voice said. Natsu took a deep breath before turning around. There, right beside where he had been sleeping was a pale face and dark hair.
"Mavis sent some stuff we treated the wood of the house with. Unless you get sick and start running a super high fever, we are safe." Gray stated rolling over. Natsu blinked, then spun around.
Gray was naked. No 'just boxers' full on nude. His perfect chiseled chest, his six pack abs running down to the v of his stomach right before, Natsu had turned away. He gulped at the bulge he had seen. Gray laughed.
"Sorry, I sleep in the nude. Is that a problem?" he asked.
"Na, na ,no." Natsu stammered.
"You do know we will be sharing a room from now on, so if you have any issues..."
"You're hot!" Natsu cried.
"Yeah, that's why I sleep naked." Gray explained missing the real meaning behind the others words. "Often without blankets." He added. Natsu nodded.
"Nope, that's perfectly fine. Yep, all good here. We are just two guys, right. Nothing to be embarrassed about." Natsu muttered. Gray laughed.
"You're a dragon, I'm sure you're well endowed in that area." He snorted. Natsu heard rustling.
"Alright I'm dressed, let's go eat. Ur is an amazing cook!" At the mention of food, Happy woke up.
