Battle fun

Natsu and Gray made there way up to the arena. They met Erza and Gajeel and several others from their school. Erza looked pissed.

"What's going on?" Gray asked.

"Someone tried to break into our rooms and kidnap Wendy." She growled.

"They sky dragon?" Natsu looked around. The white female Exceed was soothing a young girl with blue hair.

"Exactly." Erza glared out over the field. Her attention was on members of another school.

"They're the ones?" the pink haired dragon shifter asked.

"Yes. Well that's the school they are from. The ones responsible have been kicked out." She turned her angered gaze to Natsu. "On paper the room Wendy, Lucy and Carla were staying in..." She glanced over at them, before looking back to Natsu.

"Was mine?" he asked. Erza nodded.

"So, they wanted a fire dragon." Natsu grinned. "Lets give them one. I'm all fired up now!" He crowed.

"Why are you being such a big mouth?" Gray hissed. Some good natured yelling ensued. Then the chimes rung out. All schools were sent to the arena floor. Erza walked beside Natsu.

"Looky here, the baby fire dragon has a woman for a mage!" A tall blond man with huge muscles called out at seeing Natsu. He smirked turning his gaze to Erza. She laughed. They fist bumped but didn't bother correcting the smug bastards.

In the first event, which was swords, Erza and Gray had signed up. Erza was matched with the blond guy. Natsu snorted as the idiot taunted the red-haired fighter. They had the entire arena to battle on. The time limit was thirty minutes. Erza called out to him.

"Let's make a friendly wager." She offered.

"We want the dragon shifter." The man called.

"Fine. If you last past fifteen minutes, he's yours. If you don't, well then you have to withdraw from all other events you signed up for." Erza smiled. "Deal?" Natsu laughed. Gray looked at him nervous.

"There's no way she can beat him in fifteen minutes!" Gray cried.

"Ha, you're right. I bet you she will beat him in less then ten." The shifter crowed.

"No way. If she does I will do all the chores at the house for a month. But if she doesn't...." He smirked wiggling his eyebrows suggestive.

"Deal!" Natsu laughed. The match started. At first it really did look like the huge thug was going to win. Erza was thrown around. Her clothing torn from the branches of trees that lined the arena floor for this match. Five minutes in, Erza turned to look up at Natsu. He gave her a thumbs up. With a scream she swung in to the man. It took her a minute to get him to surrender under her brutal attack.

"Yeah!" Natsu cried. They were pitted against the other school in several more battles. Each time the huge man taunted both Natsu and Erza about them being bond mates. It was like the didn't even see Gray. The blond thug had withdrawn from all contests he signed up for.

Natsu was paired with Sting in a battle, they won. Gajeel beat another iron dragon in his first match. Lisanna and Elfman teamed up. They were nearly beaten but their transformation magic saved them at the last second when, Lisanna turned into a dragon of all things.

Lucy and Wendy lost their match. The little sky dragon was still shook up from her nightly encounter. Lucy withdrew from further matches that would involve the girl. As the day went on, Natsu's school and the school that tried to kidnap him was tied.

"Alright, ladies, gentlemen and all you other lovely creatures, we are coming to our final task." The announcer cried. He read off the standings. Natsu's team cheered as they were tied for first place. The prize would be money for the school.
