I sat up, and oh, turns out i have a tail now. "hey, Calvin?" i shouted, and heard thumping come up the stairs to the loft, and then David walked up the last step, turned the corner, and stopped. "Dude, is this normal?" he asked Calvin, who was sitting off the the side of him. " No, David, it is not. Miranda, I think that we need to talk."

"No, David, it is not. Miranda, I think that we need to talk." Calvin stated. i looked closely at both Calvin's, and Miranda's tail things, and immediately noticed distinct differences and similarities between hers and Calvin's.
First off, Calvin doesn't have greenish blue bioluminescence along the sides, and also, SPIKES. yeah, that's new. an obvious similarity between them is the slit running the entire length of the underside of the tail. "So, Cal', you wanna tell me how this might have happened?", I questioned, just a tiny bit jealous that I didn't have a tail, because, well, who wouldn't be?
"To answer both your questions, David, one, I do not have spikes on my tentacles, and 2, i don't friggin know how this happened either. But, odd fact, it appears that with your DNA having been altered due to our species... differences has made Miranda and I... ah heck how do i say this, um compatible?" he said with an ' don't kill me' look on what must be his face. "Calvin, I'm not going to kill you for this. I just have one question. how did i grow a tail this quick?" she asked him, with a 'start talking. NOW' tone in her voice. "actually, before you answer that one, i have another question, Calvin. I've seen with my own eyes what you can do with your cells. with me now being a hybrid, am i able to do anything similar to that?" Miranda was curious, now more than ever. what were her capabilities like, with her hybrid state? Calvin, on the other hand, seemed to light up at the mention of his abilities.
