I find myself wandering in some sort of building.

Then, I'm no longer in it. Hands clasped behind my back, I follow what seems like nothing as it guided me to a small store that held a contest.

A contest that I couldn't recall as I'm now awake.

The rules were simple. With the help of your mobile device (a tablet that's provided in my dream), use it to book any place you dreamed of going to.

You'll be hunted by assassins as you enjoy your last moments. If you pass, well, you live.

It was stupid, but that's what I can remember.

I book three nights in the building I was in earlier. Something about it eluded me and I had to find out more. I reveal my tablet to the man behind the counter and he gave me a thumbs up.

Literally.

I wasn't quite sure what I would do with a severed hand so I stuffed it in my hoodie's pockets and left.

I find friends of mine, two of them are fictional while the other one exists in real life.

The two had the names of Brett and Sarah. I think the reason for that was because I watched Inside Job before sleeping, and listened to the Sarah smiles for a week straight.

The other one, Alex, grinned at me and slung her arm around my shoulders. She was always clingy to me in the past, so I pay no attention to it.

I ask them if they had joined the game or not, and I wasn't all too surprised that they said yes, but I was caught off guard when they said they were headed to the same mall as I.

Minutes of mindless walking and we arrived. The mall was empty, with no workers, just us.

I had many dreams where I started in a mall, but something felt off. It's probably because of the assassins that are about to hunt us down, or because of something else.

I called out Sarah's name and asked her if she could accompany me to the bathroom. She obliged and excused us from the rest.

I entered the men's bathroom and stared at myself in the mirror. My face looked clear, perhaps a bit translucent. Behind me was a clock, it writhed in rust and created the sounds of a fork scratching against a plate. Luckily though, it functioned normally.

The time was exactly midnight. I hear Brett knocking and calling out my name from the outside, which startled me. With a sigh leaving my lips, I left and apologized for making them wait.

Malls in my dreams seem to originate my memories in malls that are two hours away from my home. They had things to entertain children with such as arcades and toy trains.

Those things did appear, but much bigger. Compared to us, they were as big as two TVs stacked vertically.

What do I want to do...? Was a question I asked myself repeatedly as Sarah and Brett enjoyed their time playing games while Alex went off to shop.

I feel the eyes of a man peering down at me from a few stories high. The mall was about 4 stories tall so... I'd say he was at level 3 while I was at level 1.

I didn't pay much attention to him though since he looked like my sleep paralysis demon. But I did give him a friendly wave since he made an appearance in my dream. After that, I went back to thinking about what to do in the stupid mall I chose to be in.

I hear my name being uttered with a sweet tone. Brett invited me to join him on a train as he wanted to speak with me. I agreed and waved bye to Sarah, who was playing a claw machine game.
