Worth the wait

Im ready

It was a breezy morning in New York when David woke up to his alarm. He immediately search for his phone to turn it off. He is extremely excited today because he will be on a flight to LA to visit the person who is the source of his happiness these past few months. It was already 9 months ago since Jen approached him and initiated for them to talk. It was a very emotional conversation at her house where in they were able to process what had happened with them in the past. 27 years of unprocessed emotions was laid down that night. They had forgiven each other and decided to start fresh, clean-slate and be friends again. Although it was clear to both of them that what they want was more than friendship but they agreed to take things slow this time. They wanted to enjoy this friendship that they both had both really miss. David cant deny the attraction and the chemistry he feels whenever they are together. It was like 1994 all over again. They agreed to see each other as much as possible and it was few months ago when he decided to let her daughter Cleo met her. He doesn't want to put pressure on Jen but his heart was full when he saw how the two interacted that day. He knows in his heart that Jen has always been the one for him, He will continue to wait until she's ready. What is a few more months or years compared to 2 decades of waiting. She will always be worth the wait. That he knows. As his mind wanders he immediately got out of bed, take a hot shower and prep for the flight. At the airport he quickly send a short text message to Jen saying he's gonna be there in a few hours and that he missed her so much.

Jen was still at her room prepping herself when she received a message. She smiled when she saw it was from David. She just replied "Cant wait to see you, I missed you too so much" be safe please. The message was a signal for Jen to finish what she's doing. She just chose to wear a simple white blouse and tucked it in a jean shorts. Its been months since the last time they saw each other and David had been so understanding of her schedule. They would often face time and do zoom meetings just to update one another. It was not enough for them but this was better than nothing. He was grateful that David would often offer to travel to LA just to visit her. But now that the Morning show has ended, she now has more free time and she wanted to spend every extra time she got with him. Since the event 9 months ago where they hashed out the details of their past.. it became clear to her that she wanted more with David. It amazes her how they were able to connect and be comfortable given the long time spent disconnected with each other. This is the first time where things are not complicated with them.... She was also grateful that in the past years after her divorce with Justin.. she is able to enjoy herself and be fully committed with herself and to heal from all the pain she never thought she had. Her circle of friends was also a great help in her so called "Being my own woman" season. She really did enjoy her time alone allowing her to  discover herself and what she can still do in this lifetime. That's why the launch of Lolavie was a very emotional time for her, It was her dream a long long time ago and seeing it materialize today was a huge thing for her.

She was grateful on how things are turning out for her and today she woke up with a realization that "she's finally ready", she is now ready to share herself with another person... She was in tears thinking how she even deserve this kind happiness and  the content she's been feeling. Having David by her side physically and virtually these past few months was the best thing this year. She was grateful for all his support and care and love without asking anything in return. He's always been like that even when they were young, he's the one who would adjust and understand just to make her happy and comfortable. Today she wanted to give it back to him, to let him feel that he is worth it too. She wanted to let him know that He is always been the one for her.... That her effort to to get healed was because she wanted to be worth it of his love and be able to love him unconditionally. They both already experience so much heartbreak and she just wanted for them to be happy and once and for all choose each other. She cant wait to tell him that "She love him" and that she is now ready for them.......

Jen got lost on her thoughts when the doorbell ring....She went down and rush to open the door. When she saw David she did not allow him to move she just went over and hug him tightly.. ohhh God I missed you so much.. David had a huge smile on his face while hugging her tight. Jen broke the hug and asked him to come in... How was your flight? Are you hungry? Do you want anything? .. hey hey hey.. one at a time he said laughing... The flight was smooth although it feels like forever.. I know its just a less than an hour flight but I guess I just wanted to see you that bad.... I wanted to be here as soon as possible..

Jen was touched by his remarks so she went to face him and grab his face and kiss him on the lips. David was taken aback by her actions. He cant believe that this is happening.. that after 27 years he is feeling her lips on his again.. he gladly reciprocate it while running his hands up and down through her back. Jen opened her mouth to deepen their kiss and David gladly took it and now their tongues are dancing with each other. They can both feel that they wanted this for so long. They are both so hungry with each others kisses that they dont want to end it..After a few minutes They pulled away to catch each other's breath. David look at Jen who is still panting from their passionate make out and when he catch her gaze he ask her "What is that for?"....Jen compose herself trying to form words of explanation for her actions. I know we've been tiptoeing around each other for a few months now and we both know that we want more from each other but we decided to take things slow.. and I so appreciate your patience and you for always waiting for me..

David..... I am now ready.. I am ready for us...

David wasn't sure if he is hearing this right but.. tears are now forming in his eyes he couldn't believe that this was happening.. He wanted to pinch himself.... So what do you say... are we together now? He shyly ask.. Yes. If you still want me. Jen said with a smile. David close the gap between them and hug her tightly.. he was crying now.. of course I want you, I never stop wanting you. Its always been you Jen. he couldn't possibly believe that they are together now that she chose him. I love you so much he whispered to her,,, I will never let you go again..I will work hard for you and for this relationship....
I love you too David. I promise to always fight for you for us and your happiness will be my number one priority. They  continue to hug tightly and savoring this intimate moment while both crying.
