'I've never been so cold. I didn't know what I was doing half the time'

The words rang through Nikki's head, over and over again. She'd run to the bathroom after he'd said them, she had to get away from him. Their kiss had felt so right to her. All those feelings for him that she had fought to suppress over the years had come flooding to the surface, and she'd finally realised in that moment that it was Jack. It had always been Jack, and it would only ever be Jack. When their lips had met she'd felt as if she was home, where she belonged, where she could spend the rest of her life, with Jack.

She sat on the closed toilet with her head in her hands. How could she work with him knowing that he didn't feel the same as her, that he didn't want her like she wanted him. She felt embarrassed, ashamed, but most of all heartbroken. The tears were flowing down her face. All she wanted to do was curl up and cry until she couldn't cry anymore. She'd come into work this morning so excited to see him, to see where these feelings could take them, and now, she was crushed.

She had to get out, away from the Lyell. She left the cubicle and wiped away her tears in the mirror, rubbing away the smudged mascara.

She took a deep breath, and quickly walked back into their office, ignoring Jack and Simone as they looked up. She grabbed her bag, and left. She didn't know where she was going, she just needed to get away from this place, from him.

She left the building, and ran over to her car, she needed to get away as quickly as she could. As she fumbled in her bag for her keys, she sensed someone behind her. She turned to see who it was, and felt an arm grab her from behind, and press some material over her face. The smell was awful, chemical, what was it? Her mind went fuzzy, as everything went black.
