"No no no!" Chauncey exclaimed as he clawed at his now overgrown hair. Bambi frowned and huffed as she paced in circles, trying to visualize exactly what the hell Chauncey was trying to show her.

"Can we please move on? Obviously I don't understand what you're explaining to me and it makes no sense to dwell on it," she was beyond irritated, wiping the sweat off of her hands and onto her spandex shorts.

"One last time, alright? Then we'll move on," he sighed, scratching the back of his head. I had been watching Bambi for the past twenty minutes practicing for her fight with Neil. I don't think she's anywhere near ready; her fighting on our scale is still a 6 or 7 when Neil is a 15 at best. It's easy for her to beat the boys in my unit because most of them are level 4 or 5. I don't want to say that I have no faith in Bambi, but it's gonna be damn near impossible for her to beat him with only today left to prepare.

"Okay now fists up. Right. If he grabs you by the wrists you will...?"

"Find the spot where his thumb and fingers meet and drive my arm down," she recited, rolling her eyes in annoyance.

"Good, now I know for a fact that Neil is going to push you, it's your weak spot since he weighs more than you," Chauncey explained, rolling up his sleeves.

"Now when I push you, -and I'm going to use all of my force- grab my arms as quickly as you can and twist them, while you turn out of the way of my body as I fall," he was talking to her as if she were seven years old, and I could see by the expression on her face that she was close to punching him in the face.

"Don't talk to me like I'm five, I'll punch you in the throat," she spat, sneering at him.

What'd I tell you?

Chauncey threw his hands up as he stepped away from her, getting into his fighting stance.

"Ready?" he said, nodding at Bambi.

"Yeah," she told him, teeth gritted and eyebrows furrowed in concentration. Chauncey charged at her, arms forward for the push. She took her hands and tried to grab his wrists, but she was too slow, and Chauncey ended up not only pushing her, but falling on top of her.

"Ugh, this is never going to work!" she yelled in frustration, pushing Chauncey off of her.

"It'll be okay Bamb," I tried to calm her down, but it never works.

"It's not going to be okay if I can't beat Neil tomorrow! I'm not prepared, I'm not strong, everyone wants to see me fail and I feel like I am!" she screeched, sitting onto the ground and letting a few stray tears leave her eyes.

"I know this might not help you-"

"Then why are you even going to suggest it?" Bambi snapped at Chauncey, hitting some dirt and twigs that were on the ground.

"If you'd let me finish... because it helps me. Just speak positive words into the atmosphere and believe in your heart that you're going to do your best. That's all that matters." He concluded, patting her head as he went to get a drink of water from inside of our house.

"He has a point, as much as I hate to admit it," I spoke softly to her, taking a seat by her side. "I know for a fact that Neil acts just like his father, which means he's nothing but a bastard and that he already underestimates you. He's not going to be on his A-game tomorrow when you two fight. When he sees you, he thinks, 'She may have beaten up those other guys, but not me. She's nothing but a short little girl who got lucky. I'll pin her in a minute' because like his dad, Neil is an asshole," I chuckled, earning a small laugh from my niece. She reached over and took a squib of water from her bottle as I continued.
