"Unbroken," I whispered with a smirk.
The vampire stared at me, lost in thought.
"Very well then," He said and left the room.
He came back a few minutes later with a slim lady holding a white box.
"You have twenty minutes to clean her up," He told her and left again.
I noticed that the lady avoided looking me in the eyes.
"How bad is the injury?" I asked her.
She was still silent.
"Okay... Your reply is very reassuring," I said sarcastically.
But I wanted to get her to talk so I asked more questions.
"So... How did you end up here? You look-"
Just then, the door flung open.
"Welcome back, Mr Vampire," I said with fake enthusiasm.
He glared at me.
"Be quiet," He growled.
"Okay, I will. But I have a question." I said.
He continued glaring at me.
It seemed like he preferred to communicate with glares rather than actual words.
"Is she mute?" I questioned, gesturing at the lady.
"No. Now shut up!" He said.
"Okay, yelling wasn't really necessary."
A few minutes later, my wounds were cleaned and the lady left after giving me a piece of clothing to put on. I quickly put it on.
"Get up and follow me," He said.
It took a few seconds for me to get up but when I finally did, I couldn't find the vampire anywhere.
"Where the hell are you?" I muttered.
"You have to walk faster than that," A deep voice said from behind me.
I let out a squeak and jumped a little, which made my balance a little wobbly since my legs were still weak. It took a few seconds for me to be stabilized again.
I glared at the vampire.
"Don't sneak up on me like that again," I said breathlessly.
He ignored me and started walking ahead of me. Though my steps were a bit wobbly and I was in pain, thanks to the beating, I had to quicken my pace to catch up with him.
We reached the front of a huge and thick metal door. It was pushed open by the vampire.
The room was eerily silent. I spotted a huge pool in the middle.
It was surrounded with ice and the aura there sent chills down my spine.
"This is where we take rebellious people like you,"
The vampire's voice broke the silence.
"At this point, the ice determines your fate. If you are lucky, when the timer stops, you'll still be alive but if you're unlucky, it'll kill you." He explained.
"Do I still need to take off my clothes?" I asked.
"Just get in the pool," He replied.
I nodded and walked down the steps of the pool, careful not to slip on the ice surrounding the pool.
Then I noticed that the pool was filled with ice blocks. The water was freezing.
I paused and asked,
