Sam escorted Dream through the prison to the most secure cell. "How long do you think I will be here?" Dream asked. "I have no idea long enough for Tommy to decide you should come out but knowing him you'll probably never get out of here." Sam said stopping when they got to the lava wall before the cell. "I could always just leave the SMP forever you know." Dream said a slight smile shown on his face. Sam just sighed, "Step on that platform please." Dream did as he was asked. As soon as he stepped on it the platform started moving towards the cell. As soon as Dream was almost in the cell Sam yelled, "Also with XDs permission and help we were able to make it so that you cannot use your menu in the prison." Dream stepped of the platform into the cell when Sam said that his calm demeanor shifted yet Dream covered it up well. Sam could barely tell that Dream cared about that news. However Sam couldn't ask because the lava was already rising up to cover the cell. Once the lava had risen Sam made his way over to the camera room. Without Dream knowing Sam had been able to install cameras into the cell so he could watch Dream. However, Sam did not have audio to go off of only video.
Sam watched the prisoner for a while only to discover Dream was not a fun person to watch. All Dream had done was look around his cell, Sam assumed to try and find ways to escape, then he fell asleep on the floor. Now to Sam that was surprising, Dream had said to not put beds in the rooms so the prisoners would have a hard time sleeping yet Dream was able to go to sleep almost instantly. However Sam just brushed past it to him he didn't need to know that information. Dream slept for about an hour before waking up. Dream hadn't done much else in the cell, he had looked in the chest to try and find something. When he didn't find anything he gave up and sat in the floor. At this point Sam decided there was better things to do then sit around and watch Dream do nothing so he left to go visit Ponk.
Dream sat in his cell with nothing but his thoughts and the few things that were out in the cell. He had a chest with nothing in it which confused Dream, a lectern which also didn't make sense there was not any books to put on it, a cauldron with some water which Dream guessed was for drinking or something like that. Then there was the clock, a normal clock, but to Dream it was torture and salvation both at the same time. The clock reminded him of how long he had been in there and was going to be in there but it also let Dream keep track of time which was important. Dream didn't know what to think about. He had almost killed two kids over a stupid disc and power. When Dream thought about it he couldn't remember why he did it. He thought he had a reason but he couldn't even think of one. The lectern in Dream's cell made Dream want some books to write in. However he didn't know how to get Sam to talk to him. He decided a few things could work, he could try and break the lectern and put it near the lava that could somehow get Sam's attention, he could also throw his clock into the lava and Sam might come replace it. Dream decided to go with the easier one so he picked up his clock and threw it as hard as he could into the lava. Dream didn't really know how Sam would know the clock was gone but he was hoping it worked. After he had thrown the clock into the lava he sat back down on the floor. He decided to pass sometime by singing. He didn't know many songs but he did know a few lullaby's and the L'Manburg anthem. After a while he had sung himself to sleep.
When Dream awoke he went to go check the clock only to remember it wasn't there. Dream realized that there really was no way for Sam to figure out that the clock was gone. He knew every part of the prison and he made sure Sam didn't put cameras in the cells, he didn't want prisoners to be able to communicate with people outside of visiting hours. Dream had no idea what to do, he wasn't tired and he had nothing to do.
Sam got back to the prison in the morning. He went to go check on Dream through the cameras. Everything looked normal Dream was just staring blankly at the wall. However, Sam noticed the clock was missing. He debated wether or not he should go in and give Dream the clock or just ignore it. He decided to give Dream another chance, so he got an extra clock and set off to the entrance to the cell. He dropped the lava slowly making sure Dream was behind the wall. Sam took the platform over to the cell. Dream looked up to see Sam coming across the platform he immediately stood up. "Sam!" Dream smiled, Sam thought this quite weird but put it out of his mind. "Hello Dream, before you get to excited I am only here to give you another clock." Sam said taking the clock out of his inventory. Dream of course knew this, surprisingly his plan worked. "I know. I wanted you to come for a different reason, can I have some books? If I don't have something to do I will go insane. Plus this place is set up to look like there are supposed to be books in here anyways." Dream explained hoping Sam would listen to him. Sam did, he took into consideration the fact that Dream would go insane without something to do. "I will think about it," Sam said placing the clock back in its place, "Actually, if you are able to behave yourself for two more days you can have a book, after that for every five days you behave you can get another book." Dream seemed pleased at this offer. He nodded his head and sat back down. Sam finished putting up the clock and headed back to the other side of the lava.
