The next morning, when Myra woke up she noticed that Dominic was gone. Apparently, something urgent came up and he had to return back to Italy. Myra fixed her attention on forgetting everything that had happened. She wanted to again live freely. Triplets now could at least bear her presence and the thought of it made her happy. Max was always distant but Victor assured her that he will come around soon.
She was going to school and she wasn't really looking forward to it. For some reason, she didn't liked being alone. She wanted to hang around her brothers who always made her feel safe but she was also aware that they will never allow it.
Feeling grumpy, Myra proceeded to come downstairs. Her slouchy stance and sad eyes immediately grabbed Victor's attention. He observed her silently for a while as she picked at her food.
"Is everything good, Myra?" Victor finally decided to ask her.
"I don't wanna go to school." She groaned out.
Emilio came in the last with his phone pressed at his ear. He hung up and looked at Myra. A twinkle of amusement shone in his eyes and just to annoy her, he ruffled her curly mess of hair."You are such a big baby." He mockingly cooed at her.
"Hey." Myra whined, slapping his hand away. But he jokingly pulled her messy braid.
"Emilio! No! Stop it!" Others laughed as she yelled at him. Even Max controlled his smile that was threatening to come on his face as he looked at her angry red face.
"What?"
"Victor tell him to stop." She pouted. Victor chuckled lowly and shook his head.
"You are not going to scold him?" She asked. Victor playfully shook his head no. Myra stuck her bottom lip out and looked at her father.
"Papa. Scold Emilio and Victor too."
"Ignore them Myra! They are just bunch of idiots." Arles said as he came to stand behind her. Myra whined as he too started to undid her braid with the flick of his fingers.
"Leave them down. You look a little cute." Enrique winked at her. Arles ran his fingers through her curly mess of hair. She huffed out in frustration. Living with 5 brothers was such a hard job when three of them were so annoying.
Her brothers finally dragged her into the car and soon they were off to school. Her brothers let her hang out with them. The siblings were on their way to mall after school. Because Max's birthday was coming up. He wasn't a fan of celebrating birthday but just to annoy him Triplets decided to throw a birthday party. Myra supported them fully because it was a good idea. She liked parties only if she have her brothers there.
Myra squealed as Arles blowed a ballon and popped it near her ear. She clutched her heart in fear. Enrique laughed evilly at her and overloaded her hands with the stuff. It mostly included that silly 5 years old birthday concept stuff. Max would be hella annoyed seeing this and the sneaky siblings were excited about it.
"Ok ok ok the last one. We have to select a special birthday cap for our birthday boy." Emilio stated the last point of to-do list.
"Eeekk. Look what I found." Myra squealed showing off some fun looking pink goggles with happy birthday written on top and balloons above.
"That's my fucking thing to do, lady!" Enrique pushed her out of the way and started searching something for himself. His brothers and sister joined. Myra selected some funky ice cream goggles for herself. Enrique selected a red and black goggles with chains hanging down and fuck you written on glasses. Emilio selected a black and green LED glasses for himself. In the end, Arles chose a unique one goggles that held middle fingers up on both sides.
**********
"First just let's set this stuff in car until our food comes." Arles said. Myra was the only one to offer help. He gentle guided Myra to cross the busy road. He opened the trunk of his car and let Myra put the stuff in first. When she was finished, she stood back patiently waiting for him to finish.
She suddenly felt a hard stare burning her back. Confused, she looked back to see a odd looking old man staring at her creepily. His eyes were bloodshot. His clothes were ripped and his state was disheveled. For some reason, Myra felt like it wasn't the first time she was seeing him. Her heart dropped when he mouthed something to her.
"I am going to take you away again." He smirked creepily at her. Myra unconsciously took a step back, bumping into Arles's back. He turned to look at her. Worry morphed on his face as he looked at her pale face.
"Are you ok, Myra?"
"H-he's staring." She whispered fearfully and pointed at her back. Arles looked but he found nothing wrong there.
"There is no one, Myra! Maybe you are just tired and imagining things." He patted her head. Myra nodded her head. Maybe she was just imagining weird things.
