Her Progress

Cool breeze made her long navy hair, billow in the air. The Uchiha ground was as desolate and beautiful as ever. As she stepped on the grass, the morning dew made her feet tingle. Subconsciously she let out a bright smile. For the first time in a long time, she felt truly happy. As she spread her arms out  and ran all around the field, listening to her heart beat, she felt alive; she felt free ... ...

--------------------------------

It had been 3 months since Hinata had stepped up and decided to change. She now exercised and trained regularly and had found her safe haven at the abandoned Uchiha compound which was quite far away from the Hyuga House. Her stamina had increased a bit and her chakra was better as well. She was gradually becoming healthier, and she felt nice about it! Improving her physical health was slowly but surely improving her emotional and mental health too. After weeks of research at the Konoha Library, she had decided to indulge in art therapy. Approaching the indifferent Sai, to help her with art supplies turned out to be easier than she had thought it would be, especially since she didn't want anybody to know about this, and who better than Sai!

While doing all this, she re-discovered her lost passion for art, which her father had put an end to - so that she could concentrate on her training to become the heiress. Her father's restrictions on Hinata only kept on increasing, especially when Neji and Hanabi came along, who had more grit and determination than her.
She could still hear his deep raspy voice echoing in her head .....

---------------------------------

" Concentrate more Hinata!, you are already 9 years old, yet you were defeated by Hanabi, she is only 4 years old! What are you doing? You can't even beat your younger sister, how are you going to lead the clan" Hiashi huffed and puffed at little Hinata, annoyed by her timid nature and indecisiveness. But she was the eldest daughter and they had already declared her the heiress of the Hyuga Clan.
When she was born, her eyes had an inexplicable intensity to them, a different kind of glow which unarmed people such that everybody unanimously agreed to make her the next leader. However over the years, the glow and gone down, almost vanished and no amount of training and scolding seemed to bring it back. What if the glow was just a one time thing .... and he had made a wrong decision ?

"D-D-Daddy, I'm s-sorry, I couldn't beat Hanabi be- "

Irritated by her  tiny voice struggling and stuttering, Hiashi thundered, "Shut Up! Don't give me pathetic reasons and go to your room. I have so painstakingly raised you and you can't even do your duty! It would have been if I had just adopted Neji..."

He didn't even look back at the hunched down Hinata who had tears pooling in her eyes. As he left the room, so did Hinata's self confidence.

----------------------------------

Brushing off her rising feelings of the past once again, she went back to thinking about her progress as she walked back home. Memories of her past resurfacing further slowed down her steps. Before she realised it, she was standing in front of the Hokage's office. She had decided to request a long mission, preferably an overseas mission or a mission that involved exploration so that for once, she could be out of her father's shadow and for once, she could do what she wanted, her way. Steeling her wavering mind, she went inside.

------------------------------------

Kakashi sat on the Hokage's chair smoking a cigar. He knew it was bad for his health but he needed it now. Sasuke's news about the possible existence of black Zetsu, its nature and its unknown whereabouts were really disturbing. He would definitely have to engage a highly capable and specialised search team to investigate into this matter.
Normally, he would have just let Sasuke go on his own but since the last time Kakashi had seen him, spoken to him, he changed his mind. He was really worried about Sasuke. His dark circles were very clearly visible, not to mention he had lost a worrying amount of weight. But the most concerning aspect was the increasing feeling of restlessness and agitation behind his calm façade. He had to observe Sasuke more. He sighed as he ran his fingers through his thick silver hair, when someone knocked on the door.

It was as if a bee had smelled honey and had come chasing after it.
