The next morning, I laid in bed and stared at the ceiling. My mind was full of thoughts like usual. "Can I have them not kill the others?" I said out loud. I then rolled to my side. "You know, if I think about it, I'm the one who wanted to bring those two back with the super dragon balls" I started. I slowly started to get up and sat on the edge of the bed. "So, that means that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with them no matter what, right?"
A knock was heard on the door making me lose my train of thought. "I made you breakfast, (Y/n)" I heard Zamasu say from the other side of the door.
"Haven't had his cooking in awhile" I thought as I made my way to the door. I opened it and saw he was still waiting for me. "What? Going to escort me to the table for breakfast?" I joked.
"You can say that."
"Oh."
Zamasu and I walked to the table where my breakfast was. Black was sitting at the table drinking a cup of tea. "You know, I'm surprise you two didn't try to barge into my room last night" I said as I picked up my fork and started to eat. "It has been a while since we last saw each other."
"Were you lonely without us there?" Black asked as I spat out what I just ate. Black smirked. "I take that as a yes."
"As if!" I exclaimed, wiping my mouth with a napkin. Black chuckled and I glared at him.
"So, (Y/n). How was life without us around?" Zamasu asked out of nowhere.
"It was the same. It was like you two never existed" I somewhat lied. I mean I wasn't lying when I said my life went back to being the same as it was before I met the two. I did however notice I did miss their company ever now and then but that was because of that same dream I kept having.
"I see."
"How was the whole being erased thing?"
"We don't necessarily recall much on that. We do remember everything up to the point of being erased though" Zamasu explained. "Truth be told, I would wish not to encounter something like that again."
"I agree. That is why we must snuff out Trunks and his little group" Black commented. "Once they are taken care of, Project Zero mortals can continue to commence." My demeanor changed slightly because of what Black was saying. Both him and Zamasu picked up on this and questioned me about it. "You're making the same expression as last night, (Y/n)."
"I am?"
"Yes" Zamasu replied. "Are you still thinking about those mortals that will be arriving here sometime later?"
"Yeah" I sighed.
"Why? You realize that they are not the ones you know here in this timeline. They are the ones that the you of this timeline know."
"He is correct. Those mortals hold no meaning to you here" Black added. "Actually, you shouldn't be concerned with any mortals to begin with."
"Yeah but, they're still in a way my friends." I looked down at the table. "You guys wouldn't understand how I feel because you guys don't care about anyone but yourselves."
"We care about you" Zamasu pointed out.
"You say that, but do you really mean it?"
They knew I had a point, since up till now, they really never much cared about anything besides themselves. They barely could grasp the concept when future (Y/n) was around, but that wasn't enough for them to truly understand. They were beings who were incapable to know or feel love or feel compassion for others. They only knew that they were the superior beings amongst all and thought that all the universes needed to be cleansed.
