Kin was working at the shop the next morning. He was so tired he yawned every time a customer entered the place. He didn't know why but the meeting his brother had the night before made him uneasy. He didn't like the man, he didn't like his tone, his accent and of course what they were talking about. The act kept repeating into his head and it made him exhausted and distracted. Things slip through his hand and fell on the floor and he had to ask to repeat the client's request more than once. Consequently most of them looked severely at him.
It was almost one o'clock, he was extremely hungry so he thought he'd close the shop. He went to the door and was about to lock it, when a young woman ran towards it. She entered without even asking him if it was still open, and she looked around. What did she want? He never saw her, she wasn't a regular customer, so what was she doing there? She wore a very short skirt, ruined tights and a male coat. She wasn't attractive, neither gentle nor polite.
-"Where's the owner?" she asked in the end.
Kin stared at her with his blue eyes wide open. She didn't say hello or asked for his name, she didn't even told him hers. She was clearly rude.
-"I'm the owner." the young man answered.
She stared at him, carefully. He wore his work uniform, a white apron with the shop logo on the chest. It was obvious he worked there, but she had no clue he was the owner.
-"I know the owner and it's not you...so, don't try to fool me. I'm not stupid." she said, heading for the door.
-"Well, you're the fool...I'm the owner and if you don't believe it, it's your problem!"
While he was saying so, his mother emerged from the back. She looked at them strangely, then spoke:
-"Why don't you help this nice girl out and close the shop? It's so late, we should eat."
-"I was trying to, but this nice girl doubted I was the owner." replied Kin.
-"Of course you are...now, come up so we can have lunch."
After smiling at her, she went back upstairs. The young woman was still staring at him. She had to believe him now. She couldn't think his mother was lying too.
-"You really are pathetic...making your mum lie for you, that's unbelievable!" she cried out.
-"What? Are you serious?! I'm telling you I'm the owner, no one's lying here!" he shouted.
He was still sweating from the anger when Henry entered the shop. He smiled at the girl then looked unsymphatetically at him.
-"Ah...why haven't you closed yet? I see...Rosalind is already driving you crazy!" he added.
Rosalind? So that was her name. But how did he know her?
-"That's the owner, Henry! I knew you were a liar!" she exclaimed.
Kin sighed and began to untie the lace of his apron, he pulled it out of his head and left it on the counter.
-"Given that...you're the owner, you should close the shop." he said to Henry, and then left through the back.
