II - THE BENEFACTOR

I barely got any sleep last night. Those eyes penetrating my dreams. I kept track of the news, looking for any explanation but nothing has showed up. I've tried to do some research on yellow eyes, and sharped teeth creatures, but it just keeps coming up with something called a Fyrnock. A character from Star Wars. I've given up a bit, but if something comes up, I'm on it.

I made sure that I wasn't going to be late today. I cut through the school looking for Mason near the buses. Right as I open the double doors, I run straight into someone.

"Sorry I wasn-" I look up mid-sentence, becoming speechless. Blue ocean eyes looking down at me. The world seemed to freeze around us. I then hear his heaving breathing. It sounds like someone's got a megaphone and pressed it directly into my ear. I then notice his sweat.

"Are you okay?" I ask "Yeah, yeah, sorry I've got to go" he replies breathlessly. He then starts walking into the hallway, looking back once more , before disappearing around a corner.

I finally meet up with Mason and head off to class.

I distracted myself with biology answers, anything to not think of last night. I 'm zoned out, having tunnel vision. Something tumbles on top of me, both of us falling onto the ground.

I don't notice who helps me up, but I turn to see the guy with the beautiful blue eyes.

"You want to go to a party tonight?" He asks the person next to me. I look to my right and see Kira, the one that tripped down the stairs. I was close to her last year, when she first started here. For some reason unknown, she just stopped talking to me. Only saying hi's and hellos, every now and again. But she was a junior, so she's got other priorities, I guess.

I start walking off to my class, trying to not interrupt their conversation. Not realizing he was talking to me; I unknowingly missed the upcoming invitation he was about to give me as well. Leaving him mid-sentence.

I would usually be at the hospital right now but ever since that night, I haven't been able to go back. I know what I saw wasn't real but every time I've tried to go back there, I freeze up and walk back home. Even though I still try to research, but to no avail nothing come ups, confirming I'm just delusional.

To waste time, I'm trying to study for an upcoming biology test, although I'm not getting far.

BING! My phone lights up with Mason's name on it.

MASON

"Want to come to a party?"

I stare at the message for a second. debating on whether I want to or not. Sighing, I pick up my phone.

BAILEY

"Sure."
