Chapter 5: A Message from the Dead

Katherine and Hellboy sat side by side while Alice sat across from them in the van. She looks at the chest Broom left him. Knowing exactly what his new 'toy' was. Just another weapon to kill more monsters.

"Well, aren't you gonna open it?" Katherine asks as she watches him eye it.

"Hmm?" Alice grins, knowing he was curious.

Sighing, Hellboy leans over and opens the case. Inside was a gun, a updated version of his old one that he lost when the Osiris Club ambushed him and Kat.

"That's mega." Alice exclaims.

Hellboy scoffs and picks up the gun, "He's probably overcompensating 'cause he's not my real dad." He loads the large ammo and cocks it.

"Still, that's some present." Katherine as she eyes the large gun, seeing the name 'Good Samaritan' branded on it.

"Some dads get their kids LEGOs." Hellboy says sarcastically.

Soon, they were approaching the Osiris castle. As soon as they drive past the gates, Alice gasps in pain and grips her head as if she was experiencing the worst headache. It felt like knives twisting in her brain through her ears.

Hellboy and Katherine both jump in caution, "What's wrong?" He asks.

Groaning in pain, Alice massages her temples, trying to contain the pain but it was barely helping.

"Psychic migraine." Alice pants in pain, "It's like a car crash in my head. Something terrible happened here." Alice looks at them in fear.

Katherine looks at Hellboy with worry and grunts as the van skids to a halt in front of the castle.

Hellboy grabs his gun and grips Katherine's arm gently, "Both of you, stay here. Don't move." He states.

Katherine looks at him in disbelief, "What?" She scoffs as he hops out of the van and faces her. "What was that bullshit about us being a team?"

After what happened with the Osiris members out there, he didn't want to risk her getting hurt again. He frowns at himself for being so worried about her, but he didn't have time to analyze everything.

"Be a team member and protect Alice. She's human and you may have those powers, but you're human, too. Just keep her and yourself safe." He says and slams the door shut.

"Are you kidding me?" Katherine exclaims.

Alice gasps in pain again as horrible screaming fills her head. She grips her head in pain and rocks her body.

"Oh, God." She gasps as the feeling of absolute dread filled her soul. As if she could feel the pain and terror of many souls.

Hellboy and Daimio rush towards the entrance until Daimio holds a fist to stop everyone.

"Hold. Move on my command." Daimio states.

Hellboy scoffs at him, "What?" After giving him three seconds, he was impatient to go inside and raise hell. "Can we go in now?" He asks sarcastically.

Suddenly, Alice and Katherine come running towards the door. Alice had a broken look and Katherine was right behind her.

"I told you to keep her in the van!" Hellboy growls.

Before Katherine could argue, Alice shouts at them all, "For fuck's sake, help him! Can't you hear him screaming?" She says and rushes into the castle.

"Alice!" Katherine calls out and follows her with Hellboy and the others.

Alice shoves the doors opens and when she reaches the foyer, she falls to her knees in front of a dead body, clutching her head as the screaming grows and echoes around her. She groans in pain as everyone swarms inside.
