Tubbo joined the discord call feeling excited, he along with five other contant creators had been invited to participate in the retro partner charity stream. It was a little nerve wracking because he had never exactly talked to anyone else invited on the stream,, but he could usually be social with strangers when he had to be. "Sup gang" Tubbo said as soon as he joined, feeling a little relieved he did not have to focus on talking to all of these creators and entertain his stream. Everyone in the call greeted him and Tubbo relaxed slightly, feeling that so far everyone seemed nice enough. Tubbo made small talk with everyone on the call but mostly sat back and listened, not wanting to be to annoying In this new group. Tubbo knew he would need to go live soon to stream his perspective, but he felt it would be better not to interrupt the conversation. Tubbo knew he could relax, they were all streamers as well and would know why he went on deafen. Tubbo quickly booted up his stream and filled them in on what was happening. He saw a flurry of messages asking him who his teammate was. "Chat they haven't announced it yet" Tubbo said in his fake put off voice. "Have patience, I'm about to go back into the call, the event starts soon". Tubbo undefeaned and the final member was in the call. "Hello big guy" Tubbo said in a friendly voice. He thought maybe it did not come off that way from the annoyed look thrown his way,, but the look was replaced with confusion and then understanding which just confused Tubbo. "Hey man, I'm Alex, it's so exciting that they let so many different kind of people participate in these events. The words he said were nice but the tone he used was liked he was talking to a five-year-old which confused Tubbo. "Sure diversity is poggers big man" Tubbo said, feeling like this was a strange get to know you conversation. The look Alex gave him felt slightly condescending, but Tubbo thought maybe that's how he is with everyone. That thought was thrown out the window when he talked perfectly normal with everyone else. Tubbo was feeling slightly annoyed and looked down and saw his chat raging. He kept seeing "do you see what he's saying about Tubbo in his chat" and "mean streamer". Tubbo really did not want to see the other man's house perspective and felt he needed to calm down his chat. He muted and started trying to go damage control, "chat it's fine he probably just doesn't know how to talk to a teenager, I'm sure he's perfectly friendly". As Tubbo unmuted to get back into the conversation, he couldn't help hope that he was not teamed with this guy. It was finally time for the event, the teams were being announced and Tubbo was really happy to be getting out of this group VC and into the team VC. Tubbo felt his face drop when his team was announced, him and Alex. Tubbo quickly put back on his excited stream face. It really couldn't be all bad, the guy was just slightly condescending Tubbo could handle that. Tubbo left the main call and went into the team VC he smiled at Alex and was about to try to break the tension when Alex screamed "fuck". "I'm sorry what?" Tubbo asked feeling confused "are you okay?" Tubbo asked, feeling this had to be a bit, he had never seen someone this unironically mad on stream before. "No offense dude, but I was hoping I would get a competent partner, and you're not exactly the brightest" Tubbo stared at him confused, he had never had to deal with another streamer being this aggressive to him and was not sure how to handle it. "Don't worry boss man I'll carry" Tubbo said hoping that this was a strange bit he just did not understand. Alex gave him a look and then muted, which Tubbo could not pretend he was not relived about. Tubbo quickly muted to and tried to deal with his chat, who were all raging on his behalf. "I'm sure he was joking, guys" Tubbo said in a voice that was to tense to be reassuring. Tubbo thought maybe it would get better after the first game feeling he did a good job but when Alex went he was completely awful and lost in under a minute, taking them from first right to last. Every game was following that trend of Tubbo winning and Alex losing for them, only unmuting to berate Tubbo and blame him for their low score. Finally, Alex unmuted and said, "could you at least pretend like you are trying, how the fuck did I get teamed with a complete retard" he muted again at this point Tubbo was done with this event and just wanted to cuddle with ranboo and watch South Park. He was in the middle of the next game when he saw his chat spamming check Twitter. Tubbo sighed but opened up Twitter on a side tab and the first thing he saw was a tweet from ranboo that said
It's sad how serious some people take these events, but look at Tubbo with the carry. #tubbocarry
Tubbo laughed and was looking at all the replies with a smile Tommy's reply got another laugh, his simply saying

All the members of the dream SMP had replied and several people that Tubbo had played among us with. Tubbo was still happy to leave the lobby once the event was over. And sunk in his chair as soon as it was done, and he was no longer live. Ranboo came into the room and Tubbo immediately hugged him. "That was awful"Tubbo said, not able to hide how draining it was. "You handled it better than I would have, I would've cried on stream" ranboo said in a reassuring voice. Tubbo smiled at him, "thank for the tweet boo, that was the only reason I held out until the end of the event". "No problem" ranboo laughed "you're lucky I tweeted first Tommy was about to end that man's whole career" Tubbo smiled he really did have the best friends.
