You sigh.
"Fuckin' homework in every goddamn subject...and on a freakin' Friday, no less..." you huff under your breath.
You growl, annoyed by your predicament. Shifting the gray beanie on your head, you stomp all the way to your house, which is just a few steps away. Until-
THUNK
"Ah! What the-"
You immediately look down, spotting a gold game cartridge laying at your feet. You hear the screech of a car not too far from you. You look upwards.
"Hey! HEY!"
The car gave a halt, then sped off into the distance. You raise both hands, giving whoever they were the bird.
"FUCK YOU TOO, ASSHOLE!!! I AIN'T HAVIN' AN AWESOME DAY NEITHER!!!!!"
Leaning down, you swipe the cartridge off the ground. You turn it over and over in your hand, looking for a title, or something.
"...hmph...coulda at least chucked a game at me that had a frickin' label, asshat..."
Shoving it into the left back pocket of your dark blue jeans, you continue to your place.
¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿
You flump down onto the dark-brown couch.
"Sweet, sweet serenity~...aaaahh..."
Silence.
"...hmm...yeah..." You slump lower into the couch cushions. "Serenity......"
You were used to being on your own by now. Your parents worked in foreign relations, meaning that they mostly spent time abroad. Only one watching you was your next door neighbor, who was a good family friend, but knew you were old enough to handle yourself. So, they would only check up on you once every few days. Besides, your parents made sure the bills, utilities, and other such were paid in due order. Put simply, you were covered, and didn't have to lift a single finger. Although, even knowing that you were ensured a roof over your head and food in your belly... it didn't seal the emptiness left in your chest.
You were alone. You often felt lonely.
Yeah, you had a few good friends here and there, but that was at school. You get home, and it's just you. Just-
"-me." Having stared off into some random corner of the living room, you sigh again. Leaning your head back, you look up at the ceiling.
"Damn...how long have they been gone now? A month? A year?" You take your beanie off and run your hand through your hair. "...I can't fuckin' tell anymore..." Closing your eyes, you cross your arms over your face, trying to relax.
Hey.
Hey!
HEY!
You blink. You sit up straight, at attention. You quickly take a survey of your surroundings.
"...hello?"
..........
"Hellooooo?"
..........
You face palm. "This is stupid. I'm stupid! There's no one here besides myself..."
You start to lean back to sit, when suddenly a force seems to grab both your arms and force them down to your sides.
"What the-WHAT THE HELL?!"
A soft wind seems to start howling through the room, and you can feel a presence at your right ear.
In a distant, deep male voice, you could've sworn you heard someone say-
Met with a terrible fate, have we~?
"NO!!!" You quickly turn, just in time to come face to face with-------nothing. Nada, nope, zip.
Breathing hard, you rub your arms, a bit sore from the brute force.
Geezus...could've sworn I saw two red dots or somethin'...
Shaken up a bit, you try to slow your breathing.
Think...just think of somethin'...somethin' happy...
Suddenly, you swipe the unidentified game from your back pocket.
You scratch your head. "Well...might as well play the goddamn thing..." You stand and stretch. "At least...to clear up my head..."
You walk to the staircase at the right of the living room, walking upwards to the third floor. Walking all the way to the end of the third-floor hallway, you look upwards to the ceiling.
"...ugh...fuck."
You walk back downstairs and come back up with a step ladder in your arms.
Stepping on up, you reach and manage to grab the string leading to the attic.
"Well, here I go..."
With a quick breath, you heave the attic stairs down by the wire, letting them hit the floor with a resounding THUD!
"Whew!" You clap your hands together, as some of the dust from above had wafted down. You peek up into the attic.
"Tch. This place is ancient..."
Jumping off the top of the step ladder, you land on the third step from the top to the attic room.
Grasping the floor of the attic, you pull yourself up, taking in the full view of the abandoned relics within.
An old wedding dress, a cracked, full-body mirror, boxes and boxes of Christmas decorations, etc.You let out an annoyed sigh. "Well, looks as if a Spring cleaning's in order..." Hands in jean pockets, you strut to the far end of the room. "...for another time."
Reaching the back of the attic, you shuffle among the boxes, a cloud of dust accumulating above your head.
You gasp. "THERE YOU ARE!"
You pull out a dusty, scratched N64. It's purple surface now only a faded violet.
You pull out the green cartridge, smirking at it.
"I shall reveal your seeeeeeecreeeeeets!!!!"
You freeze.
".....ahem." You stand. "Dunno dafuq that was..."
?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿
"Alright..."
Setting the console down in front of the TV, you sit and examine the wires.
"Hmmm...okay..." Standing up, you walk over to the back of the television. "This goes here...that goes there..." You step back to the gaming console. "And-" You snap your fingers, and both the TV and N64 flick on.
"Yes!" You plop down in front of the console, excited, then look up at the screen.
"...what th..." You scootch up to the television screen, kneeling. "I...I AM GOD...?"
All of the sudden, you black out, in a flash of red and blue.
