AphroditeI woke up at 9:25 to the front door being slammed. I know my grandpa to be a very "everything has to be my way or I'm a complete dick to everyone" type of person so the yelling and door slamming doesn't surprise me. This early is what does. I got out of bed, went to bathroom and did that stuff, and then changed into this.
I grab my phone and go downstairs to see my grandma only to notice she's not home nor is her car. I go back up to my room, grab my skateboard, and head outside.
It's another pretty calm day out. The wind is very slow and calm. There are a couple clouds in the sky. The temperature is also perfect. I didn't even feel like skating. I put it down on the grass and sit on it, staring at the ground. I start thinking about the past few months. What I've done. Absolutely nothing. Sure I went to the game last night, but that was just last night. I don't go out and do anything else. And I was on my phone the entire time. Doesn't count.
I look up to see the one and only Niall Horan walking over to me. Like I said I haven't really talked to him. He only knows me because of Harry. It's not like we were ever close or anything.
"Can I sit here?"
No please leave. I want to stay alo-
"Sure go ahead"
Youre a fucking idiot Aphrodite. He sat down and looked over at me.
It's too fucking awkward. Run back inside and never come back out. He'll never see you again. Just go.
"Are you okay?"
I stayed looking at the ground.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Why?"
"You seem upset about something is all... How was the game last night? I saw you were there."
That's what made me look over. How did he even realize I was there.
"What? Thought I wouldn't notice ya?"
I just nod.
"It was fine I guess. Just really boring."
He looked in front of him now.
"That's how the past couple games have been. The same shit every time. Same plays. Same people out. Same crowd."
This is the longest conversation I've had with like anyone.
"That's what I've heard from people. At least they're winning"He nods. Small smile on his face. The silence is killing me. I crack my knuckles out of habit. Him instantly looking over to grab my hands to stop me. I look down again and bite the inside of my cheek. Another habit. I have many of those. He notices that one too. Instead of doing anything, he stands up reaching his hand out. I hesitated grabbing it.
"I was going to grab coffee at this cafe over here if you want to come with? If you don't want to, you don't have to."
I look to him and give him a small smile.
"I don't have anything better to do."He starts walking farther down the street towards the cafe, me following. I've been to it before. It's in a really small building with only like 3 workers in total. They just keep flipping days. I love it though. After school days, I sometimes go there and grab coffee and do my homework or study. They have a cat there too. They just don't let her out if there's too many people there.
