The ride was silent between the two same aged adults, the mafioso trying to focus on driving, his mind wondering if he should start a conversation with his former senior and how he should start it.

Glancing at the woman, she sat in an elegant manner, her back straight with her legs crossed over one another, her gloved hands played with her folded coat that she took off before getting in the car, leaving her in her grey turtle neck that had simple patterns on it. Looking out the window, she had an aloof expression, so near yet so distant, just like how she has always been.

He wore a casual outfit, maybe he had already planned to ask her out today as he dressed differently from his usual, a simple black sweater that also had neat patterns on it and a pair of black pants with a pair of tinted glasses. He was slim enough, his choice of clothing only made him look like he had not been eating in days. Still looked good in [Name]'s eyes though as she was the one that gave him the sweater.

Perhaps it was just him, but as minutes passed with silence surrounding them, the more he became conscious of himself.

Akutagawa Ryuunouske, the Port Mafia's silent rabid dog, in the same car as [L/n] [Name], former Port Mafia member who was very close to being an executive, some said that she was promoted to be one already but she turned the offer down, now working as a detective. How delightful to see the two opposites in the same vehicle.

"How have you been, Ryuu?" He was brought out of his thoughts by her unusually soothing voice, calling him by his first name was what she did after having been given permission to with the only condition of them having to be alone.

It has been so long since he heard his first name roll off her tongue so smoothly, it was enough to push him off an edge.

"Just fine." Oh how he hopes that did not come off rude or cold, he could not help it, it has been so long since they spoke that he could not help but feel a little out of place.

She opened her mouth but he quickly tried to follow up, "What about [Name]-san?" She paused for a second before her lips stretched into a small grin, her giggling caught the man's interest.

What was she laughing about? Was something he said somehow laughable to her? Did he humor her unintentionally?

"You haven't changed at all..." He pondered whether it was a compliment or an insult, the content look present in her eyes made him guess the former.

"Oh, that's the one!" Between the two, she was the one who spoke more, being used to his silence. The first time they met was spent in silence, neither wished to speak to a stranger, one could imagine how awkward it was until their boss forced them to speak up, a certain executive and former executive sure did not have the need to imagine.

Lucky for them, they did not have to take too long to find a place to park the car, looks like things have been going nicely so far.

"We must be looking good today to be able to find a parking spot so quickly, huh~" She hummed in delight while grabbing the files and her coat carefully enough to make sure none of them fall, the other nodding and getting out of the car after turning it off.

He swiftly made it to her side and opened the door for her to get out, which she thanked him for with her signature grin.

She did not lie when she said that the agency was only a few blocks away, though he tries his best to ignore it and focus his attention on spending time with his lady.

Seeing that her hands were full, he held the door to the tea shop open for her like the gentleman he is and offered to help hold her coat, but was declined, saying that she was fine on her own.
