Chapter 1: Meeting

Lana POV
I walked into my first day of journalism, not knowing what to expect. Sophomore year and a new school was not my choice. My mom got a promotion and now we live in North Carolina, originally I lived in New Jersey. I sat in the last row because I didn't want to attract attention to myself.

"Hey" a really cute guy with bright blue eyes said to me
"U-Uh Hey I'm Lana and you are?" I said trying to sound chill (a.n literally my catchphrase)

"I'm Hayes. Lemme guess you're new here and you have no idea where to go next... BUT you are in luck, because I'm a pretty cool dude and I can show you around." He said bowing.

Well he seems full of himself, but I do wanna talk to him more so I'll just say yes.

"I'm not full of myself" he said laughing " but I would like an excuse to talk to you more too"

Did I seriously just say my thoughts out loud right in front of him. *face slaps in my mind*

"So I'll wait for you outside the room then I can show you to your next class" he smiled

"Okey-dokey I-I mean sure." I stated back

I couldn't even think straight the rest of the class. But at least I heard the homework. Find a topic that interests you then write why it interests us. EASY! So I grabbed my books and there he was, waiting for me. I knew he said he would but him there just made me really happy inside. We walked and it was quiet for a second.

"So where you headed?" he asked me

"Umm I need to go to room 203" I stated back

" Oh then I can just walk you to class because I'm in room 200" he smiled

"Do you play any sports here?" I said trying to make conversation.

" I play lacrosse and football."

"OH cool! I play lacrosse and softball."

"Hey how about we hang out later and play some lacrosse at my house. Around 5ish." He typed his number into my phone and I did the same to his. And he texted me his address.

BEST FIRST DAY EVER! Only 2 periods went by but still.
*after school*
I walked home, alone cause you know not a lot of friends yet. I grabbed my blue lacrosse jersey and put on a pair of grey sweat pants and blue converse. I grabbed my pink, lime green, and light blue pennyboard and rode to the address. With my luck it started to rain. I knocked on his door and a guy definitely a few years older than me with even brighter blue eyes opened the door along with a little girl with blonde hair.

"HAYES YOUR NEW GIRLFRIEND IS HERE!" The boy yelled.

Uh what

"Nash, she is not my girlfriend got it." Hayes said annoyed

"But Hayes didn't you call her pretty and" the girl said

"Skylynn stop pleaseee!" hayes said to the girl

Hayes walked out with a lacrosse shirt also and a pair of basketball shorts with some vans. He lead me to his backyard which was HUGE. He had some lacrosse goals set up already.

"Hey umm Hayes wanna play some lacrosse then hang out cause I'm kinda tired from school." I said

"Yeah of course. SAME HERE" he laughed

We played some one on one and I won. But here's my issue: guys don't like to lose to girls and I don't wanna seem weak soooooo I just let the game play out. After the game we walked into his house and sat on his couch watching some random movie on Netflix. I know this isn't a date but I wish it was. I've only known him for a day but we have a lot in common, especially lacrosse. I just hope he likes me back.

Hayes POV
We have a lot in common. It's to soon to ask her out, I mean we literally just met and all but at least we can be friends for now. I just hope she likes me back...
