The world spun while you looked to the sky, gasping for air. The massive wound in your stomach was making it harder to breathe by the second. Tears pooled in your eyes; you could feel the end was near.

Walking away from you was the one person you thought you could trust. The person who betrayed you, and left you to die.

A few moments pass, and a new figure emerged from the forest. The tears in your eyes made your vision blurry, but as soon as they slid their hand over your head, you knew who it was.

The person you had the chance to kill many times, but never could bring yourself to.

They gently maneuvered you to a position to where the were cradling you. Each time you let out the smallest wince of pain, they were sure to be even softer with their touch.

The two of you sat there for a while, not speaking, just taking in your final moments together. The sunset painted the sky as you both gazed upon each others faces.

They stroked your hair, and did their best to comfort you. You were starting to feel cold, and decided you should speak soon.

"Did I ever mention how nice your eyes are," you asked in a weak, raspy voice.

"I don't believe you did," they reply softly, smiling a bit.

"Well they are. Your eyes are beautiful," you tell them, giving a weak smile.

They smile, and thank you, forced gratitude in their voice, though you could still hear the somber tone.

A few more moments pass before your vision starts get spotty and fade.

Your shaky hand raises up half way to their cheek when you start to struggle, but they quickly grab hold of it and take it the rest of the way, pressing it firmly to their face. The wetness from their tears comes to your attention. They had been silently streaming down their face.

You gently wipe them away, and begin to speak again, though it's harder than before.

"There's something you need to know," you say, your voice now fighting to get the words out.

Within a second you feel their lips connect with yours. It was sweet and passionate, and it was something you had been waiting to do for so long.

It was over a moment later, but your foreheads touched, staying in contact with each other.

"I love you," they said.

"I love you too," you replied, taking your last breath.
