Claudia’s P.O.V

 

            I hurried to my seat before anyone noticed I was creepily staring at Keaton. Would he recognize me? Oh no way, stop thinking that Claudia, you were just another girl in that middle school. He never once said a single word to me; I bet he didn’t even know my name. I still wondered how that was possible if Wes and Noah were best friends, oh well Keaton did have his own life. Ok, snap out of it, pay attention to the class. The class passed by and about 15 minutes before the class ended Mr. Sugg said we had to work on a project in pairs, fantastic, no one is going to want to work with the new girl. He started picking names from a jar, when I hard my name my stomach started trembling.

           

“Claudia, you will be working with….” Oh here it comes, just wait for it, “Keaton” he finished. My head automatically turned to see Keaton flashing a smile at me. “For this project, you must get to know your partner in every way possible, you have 3 weeks to do it. In the end, you will do a presentation about each other. Doesn’t matter what kind, just be creative! Okay class dismissed!” With that I picked up my books and I was halfway to the door when I hand landed on my shoulder. Startled I turned around and saw none other than Keaton standing right in front of me.

“Hi, I’m Keaton!” he said as he shook my hand. Yep, definitely did not recognize me. So I’ll just pretend I don’t know him either! “Claudia” I said as I took his hand in mine, woah his hands are soft, okay concentrate Claudia. “So, I was thinking we could start working on this project right away, you know, to have more time to get to know each other” he started. Alone time with Keaton? No thoughts, I’m in! “Absolutely! What did you have in mind?” I asked giving him a curious look. “Well we could start tomorrow after school, here give me your number” holy flapjacks. He wants my number, back in Sequim this would’ve never happened. I gladly gave him my number, and he punched his digits into my phone. “Wow nice case!” he said as he looked at my phone case.

“Thank you! I took the picture myself!” (A/N: I’ll put a picture of the phone case on the side) I proudly replied. “ Wow you’re a really good photographer! I actually take pictures myself” I never knew that, oh well obviously, it’s not like I stalked to guy. Just then, the bell rang, math time. Keaton took my schedule, and surprisingly, we had most of the same classes together. Calculus here I come. I guess I never took pride in it, but I am a very smart girl, and apparently so was Keaton, smart boy, obviously. I introduced myself to the teacher, whose name I didn’t even bother to remember. I sunk into my seat; this is going to be such a long day.

           

            Lunch finally rolled around, and I luckily had lunch with my brother. I didn’t have any friends that were girls yet, because well I spent most of my day with Keaton. As I walked into the cafeteria I noticed that Noah and Wes weren’t there. I was about to ask Keaton, when I remembered I “didn’t know him”, so I decided I would just ask Noah at home. I followed Keaton to a table full of people, he sat and I awkwardly stood there not knowing what to do (#NewGirlProblems… sorry I had to). A guy with blonde hair turned around and was facing Keaton, “So Keats, are you not going to introduce you to your friend over here?” he said. Keaton immediately stood up blushing crazily “Oh my gosh I am so sorry, everyone this is Claudia” he said pointing at me. Let me see if I can remember all the names and hellos that went after that.

-“Hey there! I’m Kelly,” a dirty blonde with green eyes said. She seems nice, and not to mention she’s stunning.

- “I’m Kyle by the way, Kelly’s boyfriend” the blonde hair dude said as he turned around and put his arm around Kelly’s shoulder. Aw young love.

- “I’m Katherine, and yeah haha I am Kelly’s twin” she said smiling at me. Oh well no wonder, they do look alike…. I noticed she was wearing a cheerleader uniform.

- “Hi Claudia! I’m Madisen!” Another girl with dark hair and the most stunning green-grey eyes, said excitedly.

Another guy with brown hair and matching eyes sat there mingling with his food. He hadn’t acknowledged my presence until Kyle gently elbowed him in the ribs and nodded in my direction. “Oh hi…. I’m Tyler,” he said awkwardly. Wow he’s cute… Keaton scooted and opened a space for me to sit next to him. I ate my pizza in silence, chicken and corn yummy. No need to say it, I like weird food. After lunch nothing major happened. I found out that Katherine is the cheerleading team’s captain; at least she’s not like those girls that you see in the movies. Last period passed and it was time for dance tryouts… Here we go again.

Teaser: dance tryouts duh… oh and she starts working with Keaton ;) More characters are met in the next chapter. And where did Wes and Noah wonder off to during lunch?
