"Welcome, everyone. Please find a seat, and make yourselves comfortable."

Frisk stepped into the room, casting a glance around to see if any of her friends were in the same homeroom class. After a bit of time, she spotted the red-headed singer settled in the back of the room before making her way toward the tables.

"☝︎⚐︎⚐︎👎︎ 💣︎⚐︎☼︎☠︎✋︎☠︎☝︎ ✌︎💣︎👌︎☜︎☼︎," she laughed, jumbling her words into the confusing text of Wingdings before finishing in English. "How are you?"

"I'm fine, Frisk. How are you? Are you ready to suffer through another year of school?" Amber responded. Frisk shrugged and plopped down in a chair, dropping her bag to the floor.

"I know Chara doesn't want to be here anymore."

Amber nodded and blushed a bit at the mention of the human Dreemurr. Frisk laughed and grabbed a sheet of paper from her journal, starting to sketch little diagrams of experiments and some puzzles from memory.

"Good morning, students! I hope you are all doing well! Now, before I pass out each schedule I'm going to call each person's name and I would like you to confirm you are here."

Frisk looked up and counted the number of students in the class. About 26 people, including myself and Amber.

"Norah Avalon?"

A somewhat distracted female raised her hand, her eyes scanning the pages of her book.

"Alright, Frisk Gaster?" Frisk raised her hand.

"Here, sir."

"Thank you, Amber Gilvine?"

"Here."

Amber and Frisk shared a glance as the rest of the students were called, both muttering a bit about some of the others. Frisk glanced at her schedule, mentally recalling where all of the classrooms were.

"Did you get Computer Science?" she asked, looking at Amber. "I got Journalism."

"Yeah. It's just before lunch. What's your first period?"

"Algebra I," she responded. Amber rolled her eyes and pretended to gag.

"Worst class to get first thing in the morning."

"B215. Where the fuck is B215?" Chara muttered as he walked along with Asriel. Asriel stopped at a room and read aloud the number.

"B213." Chara stopped and glanced at the room just next door, sighing.

"Right. B215 is right beside B213."

He heard Asriel laugh and watched the white fluffy goat walk into the classroom. As soon as he vanished behind the door, Chara trudged into the classroom before him and hunted down the only open seat left, one beside the not-so unpopular bleach blonde who was too busy messing with her phone to say hi.

"Good morning, Katelyn." All he received was a hand wave. He sighed and looked at the teacher, listening as he explained, and began to hand out the schedules.

"Chara Dreemurr, please come get your schedule." Chara got up and walked over to the front of the classroom, not getting a lot of stares or whispers, except a few students. Freshmen kids. They'll know soon enough about me, then I'll be more popular. Stupid royal status. He thought, taking the paper from the teacher and nodding in thanks. As he returned to his seat, Katelyn looked up at him and smiled.

"Morning, Chara," she said as she set down her phone.

"Katelyn Edwardson, come get your schedule." Katelyn glared at the teacher before getting up and taking it. Chara rolled his eyes and read over his schedule. His phone buzzed, causing him to flinch a little at it. Stupid notification scaring me. Glancing at the screen, he smiled and opened it.

Asriel: What's your first class?

Frisk: Algebra I. You?

Asriel: I got English IV

Chara: I've got English IV, as well, Azzy

Shutting his phone off, Chara took a breath and got up, stepping out of the classroom to wait for Asriel, much to the teacher's dismay. It didn't take the monster too long to exit, and the pair made their way to Frisk's class.

Frisk: I'm in A123

"Huh, did you see Katelyn?" Asriel asked, catching Chara's attention. "I'm just curious."

"Last I checked, curiosity got both of us in trouble. But yes, I did see her. Kind of hard to see her when you have to sit beside her cause it's the only seat left." Asriel nodded and chuckled a bit.

"Curiosity did hate the two of us. Not Frisk though."

Chara rolled his eyes and stopped in front of the classroom. Shit. My old Chem teacher's room? Seriously!? He leaned against the lockers, trying not to be seen by the teacher, a failed attempt as the door opened and both Frisk and the older gentleman stepped out.

"Good morning, Chara, Asriel," he said, smiling. "Have a good day Frisk. Amber and Norah, you're free to leave now."

"Good morning, Mr. Avalon."

Amber and the other student, Chara figured out pretty quickly she was Norah, stepped out of the room, Amber almost immediately joining the trio by the lockers. Norah glanced at the group and smiled before walking off.

"Hi, Chara. Hey Asriel."

"Howdy, Amber!" Asriel responded. Chara watched Norah walk away, a thought crossing his mind. Strange to see her in that room.

"Apparently, Norah is Mr. Avalon's daughter," Frisk said, having caught Chara's glances at her. "She actually wasn't supposed to be in this room, but her dad moved her when he accidentally got her schedule."

Chara nodded and sighed, pulling out his pocket knife and playing with it. His class was a few feet away and Frisk's was at the opposite side of the building, upstairs in the E hall. The voices around him buzzed out and were replaced by loud clicks and a sudden laugh. He blinked and glanced around, hearing Frisk and Amber say their goodbyes as they walked away from the pair of brothers.

"Chara, you okay?"

"I'm fine, Asriel. Just... a little out of it today. I guess I didn't get as good of a rest as I thought I did," Chara responded as he pushed himself off the lockers and began to head to his classroom. Asriel followed, shrugging and dropping the topic.

"You were a little overconfident, huh?" he laughed. Chara rolled his eyes and elbowed him.

"So were you, Prince."

"Oh drop it, Chara!"

"No."

"Hey, Chara? Can you promise me that this year is going to be better than the last one?"

"I promise this year will be better. And if I break it, I'll spend a week in the Underground."
