"Let's go, team! Diggory's put together an extremely good team this year, but I bet we can beat them," Roger said. They had to raise their voices in order to be heard over the roaring wind."By two hundred points?" (Y/n) asked. Roger gave (Y/n) a look.
"Maybe," he said. (Y/n) pumped her fist.
"You gonna give us an inspirational speech, Davies?" Jason Samuels, a beater, asked.
"I feel like you're mocking me, Samuels," Roger jeered. "Um... Have fun, don't die, score goals, and... WIN!"
"Oh, Merlin, help us," muttered Grant Page, the Keeper.
"All right, let's win this— Let's win this game, team!" Roger said, clapping his hands lamely. The team gave no reaction and simply left him in the dust as they walked to the pitch.
Cho and (Y/n) giggled at one another."You don't think it'll rain, do you?" Cho asked, peering up at the sky. "Ooh, or snow, hopefully."
"That'd be nice," (Y/n) agreed, also looking up at the sky. She stretched her arms over her head. "Oh gosh, I'm nervous," she admitted.
"Me too," Cho said, shivering. "I should've brought my scarf."
"Me too," (Y/n) said, burying her face in her robes. They looked over with wide eyes as Roger walked back from shaking Cedric's hand.
"Mount your brooms!" Madam Hooch bellowed. They obliged. (Y/n) was barely able to hear the shrill whistle over the rushing wind. Fourteen broomsticks took off into the air.
"Wow, she never fails to amaze me," Parvati swooned.
"She hasn't even done anything yet," Seamus said from in front of her.
"And?" Seamus shook his head.
"Is it just me or are they particularly fast?" Hermione asked, not once taking her eyes away from her binoculars.
"Probably the wind," Harry said. As though on cue, (Y/n) halted midair as some hair from her low ponytail got into her mouth. Harry snickered. After fixing her hair, (Y/n) continued her path to the goal, successfully scoring her second round of points. She pouted and held an L up at Cedric, who grinned and shook his head as Cho laughed.
"Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw never take their games together seriously," Oliver commented, shaking his head.
"I wouldn't either if I had friends on the opposing team," Angelina said. "We've only played against (Y/n)... Wow, zero times. This'll be our first year— with Harry and Katie, I mean— playing against Ravenclaw."
"You're right!" Hermione gasped. "I've been too involved in two separate teams that I forgot you've never played against each other. Two years ago was cancelled because Harry was unconscious, last year was cancelled because of the attacks, and if the dementors or Sirius Black aren't going to be a cause of cancelling this season, you'll play against each other."
"And conflict arises," said George, who was holding Effie in her sweater. "...when'd Ravenclaw get a thirty point lead?"
"By scoring, probably," Fred said.
"I said when, not how," George jeered. The two shoved at each other and bumped into Ginny, resulting in a glare from the girl.
"Hey, hey, hey! Be careful! You've got a cat!" Angelina scolded. "I can't believe she didn't bring the kittens," she sighed.
"She got in trouble last year for it," Hermione mused.
"Did she?"
"I don't believe they're kittens anymore," Fred chimed. "They're almost four this year."
