"I can't believe it! I can't believe it!" (Y/n) cried in distraught. She had just found out that none of the people seeing her off were going home for Spring Break. "Do you know how embarrassing it is to sit alone on the train?""You've got to know someone," Hermione said nervously. (Y/n) looked over the students that were going home for spring break.
"You know, I do know someone," (Y/n) said.
"Well, there you have it!" Fred said, clapping (Y/n)'s back.
"But I'd rather sit alone," (Y/n) added.
"Wow, never thought (Y/n) would be one for disliking people."
"Have you met our dear (Y/n)?" Hermione mused. "She will go out of her way to avoid social interaction."
"Told me she had to walk her fish in order to avoid talking to me," George said.
"She doesn't have a fish," Angelina said, confused.
"Nor can fish walk," Hermione added. (Y/n) grinned as she skipped down the steps.
"Would you look at the time? Probably should get going."
"Huh. Funny that you're excited to go now, isn't it?" Fred jeered.
"Well, you know me: anything to avoid social interaction," (Y/n) said cheerfully. The Gryffindors gave her a look. "See you in two weeks."
"That long?" Harry groaned. "Last year it was only three days."
"My time there was shorter because Andromeda was nice enough to let me go back early. The train comes and goes at the start and end of spring break," (Y/n) explained. "And there were absolutely dire circumstances our last two years. She almost didn't let me go back entirely last year if I'm being honest but this year, I'm not coming back early because I like the Tonks." (Y/n) blew a kiss at him before finding her way to Professor McGonagall, who was in charge of getting the students to the station. As annoyed as the professor was, she was deeply amused by (Y/n). On the journey to the station, (Y/n) stayed glued to Professor McGonagall's side and was anxious when they had to part.
"(Y/l/n)!" Mattheo shouted. (Y/n) tried not to grimace as she turned to look at the peering Slytherins. She shyly waved before slipping onto the train and searching for a compartment in hopes of having a train ride alone. She stood on her tiptoes, placing her trunk in the overhead compartment.
"What was that about?" mused the boy as he slid the door open. (Y/n) looked over her shoulder, smiling nervously."People scare me," (Y/n) said.
"We're nice! I promise!" said a voice somewhere to the right of Mattheo. He looked to his right and narrowed his eyes. (Y/n) smiled as Mattheo turned back to her.
"Can we join you?" he asked sweetly.
"I don't see why not," (Y/n) agreed, sliding into the window seat. Mattheo put his suitcase above-head and sat across from her. Daphne squeezed past the others and took the seat beside (Y/n). She smiled at (Y/n) before motioning for Pansy to join her. There were three other boys peeking their heads in.
"...I'll go join Draco, I guess," sighed Blaise.
"No," Theodore whined. "Eight-seater. Seven of us. Basic math, Zabini." Blaise gave Theodore a stink eye, obliging nonetheless. The three girls and four boys awkwardly sat across from each other.
With a sigh, Pansy twisted and draped her legs across both (Y/n) and Daphne, leaning against the compartment wall. (Y/n) nervously opened her book and tried to concentrate on reading with her trembling hands. The Slytherins snorted and snickered.
