Chapter Two: Step By Step

Kendall's POV:

I wake up with a knot in my neck feeling horrible and remembering I'm still on a plane.

Oh gosh I hope I wasn't snoring or drooling who am I kidding I don't do either of those at least I think I don't.

I turn my head shocked to see Alec remembering he was on the plane too.

"You got a little drool coming out of your mouth" Alec says pointing to the corner of his mouth letting out a laugh.

I quickly bring my arm up to my mouth to wipe away any drool seeing that its dry.

"I was just joking I gotcha though"

I mutter to myself quietly

"Jerk" and roll my eyes looking back to my laptop.

I soon realized there's a little boy in-between us and no one else. Thats odd I wonder where his mom is. But he's fast asleep as well.

I check my watch and see the plane should be landing in half an hour and I'll finally be able to get off this thing and actually stretch.

"So why are you flying all the way over to a small town in sterling when you're clearly from California" Alec says looking at me.

"Just visiting family from that oh small town sterling I hear they have the best shakes so decided to judge it myself." I say looking directly in those emerald green eyes that are just watching me.

"Really best shakes that's the first I'm hearing when people come to sterling it's for our impeccable football team maybe while you're visiting you can check out the game and then we can try these shakes you're talking about." He gives me the most flirty smile ever.

And then I feel it. The butterflies erupting in my stomach affecting me. Affecting my train of thought affecting my breathing and even my will to respond.

Pull yourself together Kendall.

"Hmm sounds like a tempting offer guys running around throwing a ball at one another is not really my scene. " I say then picking up my phone pretending to look busy so this guy doesn't know how much he's affecting me right now and playing hard to get is the only thing I've ever known.

"Ouch you kinda poked my heart there a little well how about we skip the game and go right to the shakes how does that sound" as he's looking at me he runs a hand through his hair never breaking eye contact with me I swear his eyes were even staring at my lips. Making me squeamish in my seat.

What is this boy doing to me.

"Not sure about the shakes either I mean you are a complete stranger you could be a serial killer for all I know trying to lure me in a trap."

He starts to laugh

Why did my heart skip a beat when I heard his laugh.

The way his eyes shine a bit brighter when he laughs.

"I mean be honest do I really give off serial killer vibes I was told I'm more like a golden retriever" as he says that he laughs again.

I let out a small laugh with him.

"You know what I can see that now no more serial killer and now all i see is golden retriever."

"See I told ya so how about that shake ?"

"I don't know you"

"Well get to know me ask me anything you want I'm an open book" he reclines his seat back in chair getting a little bit more comfortable.
