"sam wake up we're at school!!" michael says shaking me.

"five more minutes.." i roll over drifting back to sleep.

i hear rummaging before i am greeted by an airhorn blaring in my ear. i let out a scream, jumping up immediately from the sudden noise to see michael holding an airhorn with a stupid grin on his face. he starts hysterically laughing while holding his stomach, "well that woke you up!"

"holy shit i don't even remember getting in your car.." i rub my head still processing everything that just happened.

"maybe because i had to practically drag your ass in or we would have been late for school." he laughs shaking his head at me.

i let out a tired laugh and put my face in my hands still trying to recover from the sudden assault of my eardrums. "you think you're real funny, huh" i say shoving him playfully before opening the door to get out.

"oh the funniest." he smirks as he locks his car.

michael has been my next door neighbor since we were kids. i could tell you anything and everything you needed to know about the guy. our families are super close so i pretty much grew up with him considering how much time we've spent together over the years. he's basically a brother to me at this point i love the kid to death.

"did you study for that math test we have today?" i ask michael partially in an attempt to remind him about it. "oh fuck, i totally forgot about that," he gasps pulling out his phone to look at the date. he sighs burying his face in his hands, "i spent all night trying to perfect this song i've been working on."

one thing me and michael have most in common is our love for music, we learned how to play guitar together using my dad's old acoustic guitar when we were 12.

i laugh and grab my notes out of my bag to give to him so he can have some sort of chance on the test. he smiles as he takes the notes from me, "what would i do without you sam?"

"probably die" i shrug my shoulders with a smirk.

michael and i laugh as we continue to walk to our classes before i am greeted with someone slinging their arm around my shoulder.

"how are my favorite redheads doing on this fine morning!" i hear calum's voice say as he releases his arm from my shoulders ruffling my hair in the process. michael just recently dyed his hair red similar to mine and the boys will not shut up about it, saying it makes us look even more like siblings.

"goodmorning cal." i laugh pushing my now messed up hair out of my face. calum is one of michael's best friends as well as the bass player in their band. it seems like growing up calum was always around, mainly hanging out with michael and i just happened to be there. not long after, we hear giggling before i see ashton jump on michaels back almost knocking him over.

"goodmorning friends!!!!" ashton chirps falling off of michael's back. michael playfully shoves ashton with a smile on his face, "you motherfucker."

"we still on for practice after school?" calum asks curiously. michael just replies with a quick nod.

"your place?" ashton asks looking at michael.

"yup, and my parents are out of town for a few days visiting my grandparents," he smirks, "meaning we can be as loud as we want."

i walk beside the boys silently as they talk amongst themselves. calum looks over to me giving me a small smile nudging me slightly, "you coming too?"

i tense up knowing he who shall not be named is obviously going to be there, "i'll see."

"c'mon if luke says some slick shit i'll punch him for you." he grins waiting for me to give in.
