Below stage Ivory stood behind Lou, scowling. The Gauntlet was about to begin, but Ivory didn't really care.
"all Gauntlet runners must immediately report to the starting area." She heard the speaker say.
The platform the two dolls were standing slowly rose up to reveal the crowd of perfect dolls. The doll house appeared overhead, it was being carried by a strong cable.
"Are you ready for the Gauntlet?" Lou asked the crowd who cheered.
"I said, "Are you ready?" He sing songed. Ivory stared miserably at her feet.
"Yes! Excuse me coming through." Ivory's eyes widened, thinking she was just imagining Mandy's voice, but sure enough when she turned around she saw the purple haired doll pushing her way passed the other dolls.
Ivory let a small smile spread on her face, Mandy glanced at her mouthing, "thank you." The blue haired doll smiled encouragingly.
Lou spun around, "Mandy, how unexpected." The spy girls looked guilty, yeah that's right, you should feel bad.
All the perfect dolls gasped, and to Ivory's astonishment uglydolls were starting to appear in the crowd. "Step aside model/engineer." One of them said.
Ivory crossed her arms and smirked at The Spy Girls, they shot her a dirty look but she didn't care.
The blue haired doll turned her head around to see Moxy and her friends walking towards them, Ox was with them. She glanced at Lou who was scowling.
Moxy and her friends stared wide eyed around the Gauntlet, they deserve to go to The Big World more than anyone.
The colorful dolls turned towards Lou and Ivory, "hello old friend." Ox said.
"Oh, this is rich. This is really rich." Lou scoffed. Ivory rolled her eyes.
"You can't possibly think you'll pass." The blonde doll hissed crossing his arms.
"Maybe we will. Maybe we won't. But every doll in this stadium is going to see us try." Moxy declared confidently. Ivory smiled softly at her.
"You know what Lou? When I first got here I thought you were perfect. I couldn't find a single thing wrong with you. But I can see a lot better now. Whaaaat." Mandy told him, putting on her now fixed
glasses.
Lou let out an obnoxious laugh, "yes. Yes. You'll run The Gauntlet. And Ivory and I are going to run it with you." Lou told them. The crowd cheered and Ivory stared at him stunned. But you can't run The Gauntlet!
"Yeah activate the core!" Lou said dancing around.
"You run The Gauntlet?" Moxy asked in shock.
"I don't even have to win. I just need to make sure you lose!" The blonde doll snapped. Ivory clenched her teeth.
"And when I'm done. I'll have my loyal subjects and sister escort each and every Uglydoll to Recycling. Where you belonged in the first place." He sneered. In your dreams! After what you've done how could I be loyal to you?
Lou chuckled and walked away, Ivory followed him reluctantly, but before she did she turned to the uglydolls and Mandy. "You guys can do this." She whispered. They smiled at her gratefully.
"Thank you Ivory." Ox whispered to his old friend.
Ivory smiled and turned to follow her brother, "now as you all know The Gauntlet is designed to simulate real-world obstacles. The participants must make it through the doggy door and cross the finish line to win." The robot explained.
