Not So Logical: A AUL Story

Chapter 3

                    Captain's head was pounding as he slowly opened his eyes. Something felt off, and he remembered the thing with No-Visor. As Captain got up, he noticed that his hands had white gloves on them. He also felt something on his head.

           Finally noticing his friends and what they were wearing, Captain went pale as the realization hit him.

                                 They were inside the freaking game!

                 "Captain, calm down." Captain hadn't realized anyone else was conscious until he heard Player's genuinely concerned voice from behind him.

                                   "I-I can't! We're inside the game, Player! That shouldn't be possible! What happens if we die? What about our other friends and family?" Captain was panicking, his breaths starting to hitch and his heart racing.

                      "It is what it is. We can't change what happened, Captain." Player shrugged.

                                                     "HOW ARE YOU SO OKAY WITH THIS?" Captain asked incredulously. He hadn't known his bestie was so quick at adapting to things like this.

    "I've been awake for a while now. Guess I had plenty of time to process it already. You haven't though. Are you okay?" Player asked, concern making its way onto his face again.

                                                    "I...don't know." Captain admitted, being honest. The whole thing defied belief. It also occurred to him that Player had never been concerned about him before. Hating the stupid thought in his brain that kept nagging about that, he tried to block it out. Player was his bestie! Of course he cared.

                        Looking at everyone as they slowly started waking up one by one, Captain noticed that the tips of everyones hair was dyed the color of their suit, and their eyes were also colored to match. When he figured that out, he instantly felt a strong urge to search for a mirror. He already had blonde hair and blue eyes. He must look pretty dumb with white tips and god knows what color eyes.

                                                                   It also occurred to him that No-Visor or whatever it was must've just had them wear their main colors, because there were two lime greens and two pinks that he could see his friends wearing. The thought passed pretty quickly though, as Captain looked at his bestie.

                            Player looked pretty cool with his new look, although the red eyes were pretty striking. He seemed to know it as well, walking around more confidently than Captain had ever seen him do so before.

                                                      Gnome looked good in green, so it suited her. When she woke up, she seemed very startled, and when Captain and Player explained the situation, she nodded like it all made sense, and instantly started helping them out and deciding things that needed to be done.

                       Mr. Egg was very anxious when he found out what was going on, until he saw Ria was safe. He kept a brave face and joined in the helping out. Being a bit of a follower like he was, it didn't take long for him to calm down once he had some direction.

                                                              TheGentleman and Mr.Cheese were surprised of course, but Mr. Cheese shrugged, saying that he'd been through worse, and TheGentleman seemed relaxed as long as Mr. Cheese was relaxed, so it worked out.
