She wore the necklace the next day. Under her clothes, of course, but that didn't take away that she was wearing it. Sunday looked a lot more invigorated with an actual good night's sleep, as did the others.
''I heard it was Jack who gave you that necklace,'' Sunday said as she stuffed white rice into her mouth, ''If I'd known it was him, I wouldn't have told you to put it on. I'm sorry.''
''It's alright,'' Y/N answered as she moved around her tempura with her chopsticks, ''I got rid of it.''
''Good, it could've been a tracking device,'' Raimundo said, ''With that creep, you never know what it could be!''
''That guy is as slippery as a baby pig covered in oil,'' Clay added. Sunday smiled at him.
Y/N focused mostly on her food as the conversation switched to how well everyone had slept that night and some of the dreams they'd had. She'd just... lied to her sister. Without even hesitating. She wasn't even planning to lie. Y/N didn't like lying, it put a dent in her trustworthiness and made her feel guilty. She already wasn't the character many people liked trusting, so to be trusted and trustworthy was very important to her. To just betray that- at the drop of a hat, like Jack would- was uncanny for her. She didn't like it. It must've been because she was a terrible person.
Y/N didn't speak during dinner that evening. Sunday only asked her if she was alright, to which she nodded, then went back to slowly eating her dinner. At night, the others were already snoring when Y/N was still wide awake, playing with her necklace. She had Jack on her mind. She suddenly remembered the Hand Mirror of Tanbo, the mirror that could tell her her desire. Perhaps, if she were to use it on herself, she could prove to herself once and for all that she didn't really like Jack, at least not in that way. That it was just... some kind of weird, fleeting fascination with the boy. She got up from her mat, and as quietly as she could, snuck over to the Shen Gong Wu vault. She found herself walking down the spiral staircase, the place was dark and smelled like dust, but somehow, it wasn't long before she found the Wu she was looking for. With trembling hands, she lifted the Hand Mirror of Tanbo. A relatively simple mirror, with black painted edges decorated with swirly patterns. Footsteps were at the top of the stairs. Y/N walked down the stairs, trying to disappear into the darkness, hiding the mirror behind her back, but to no avail. Sunday came running down the stairs, and stopped when she saw Y/N.
''Oh, it's you!'' She panted, ''I thought Jack had broken into the vault again.'' Y/N gulped. Her heart was bearing against her ribcage. Would Sunday suspect anything? ''What... what're you doing here, anyway?'' Sunday asked as she stepped down another stair, ''Shouldn't you be in bed?''
''I couldn't sleep, so I wanted to count the Shen Gong Wu, make sure they're all there,'' Y/N lied.
Sunday furrowed her brows and shook her head. ''What?'' She pointed at Y/N, ''Then what're you hiding behind your back?''
''Nothing,'' Y/N lied again.
''Then show me your hands!'' Sunday didn't want to look upset, Y/N knew Sunday didn't want to look upset, but she knew very well that Sunday was upset.
She showed Sunday her hands, along with the Hand Mirror of Tanbo. ''I- I was curious as to what it'd show me,'' she confessed, ''I wasn't planning to steal it.''
Sunday took the Mirror from her hands. ''You know master Fung doesn't like us using the Shen Gong Wu without his permission!''
Sunday glanced up at Y/N. ''...Are you still wearing that necklace?'' She asked. ''I told you you could take it off!'' She shook her head. ''You told me you got rid of it!''
