so before we get started. this breaks my little heart to announce, but I've been soo stressed about putting out these chapters weekly for all of you. i've been stretching myself thin between my university studies, my job, and my writings. because of this, i am going to have to pause on the updates until the end of my semester in may. i'll work on all the chapters and finish them on my own time before treating you guys to daily updates for a continuous two weeks. i'm so sorry about this, but my mental health and stability comes first. i hope all of you understand. much love as always😚

Aaron: "Curiosity is lust of the mind." Thomas Hobbes.
Emily sighed as she taped one of the boxes in her room. The teenager looked around and sighed softly. Her room looked like a complete disaster. It was like her entire existence in this room was being erased entirely.
Her head swarmed with different memories that had taken place over the last view months. Specifically, about the tall, dark-haired lover she had managed to obtain. His smile played over and over in Emily's mind.
She fell in love with him in this room. After every encounter they'd have, she'd run up here only to bury her face in her hands to hide the blush forming. For the first time, Emily had wished she had more time before starting school now. She figured this would be the most joyous occasion as she was free from Elizabeth, but now that wasn't the case.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Emily turned and saw Ally standing there. Ally had a small brown paper bag and a warm smile on her face. "I brought everyone some breakfast. I figured you'd be hungry. Elizabeth said you've been packing since three in the morning."
Emily didn't say anything as she walked up to Ally and embraced her in a tight hug. The shorter woman was taken back by the gesture before holding onto Emily.
"Well, hi. This is nice," Ally said as she slowly shut her eyes. The younger woman chuckled as she pulled away from her. Ally smiled softly at Emily as she placed her hand on her chin. "You'll be great. I'm so proud of you."
Emily swallowed her tears and smiled shyly at Ally. "Thank you, Ally."
"Of course. Now, I got you that breakfast sandwich from the local place at the corner. Eat it please. You need your energy," Ally said as she reached into the bag and handed Emily the sandwich. The younger woman nodded her head as she placed it on the tower of boxes next to her. "I mean it, Emily Elizabeth Prentiss."
"I think I liked you more five seconds ago before you used my full name," Emily said and rolled her eyes. Ally laughed loudly as she shook her head.
"You always like me. Now, eat. I'll be downstairs if you need me," Ally said and pointed her finger at Emily. The young woman sighed softly as she grabbed the sandwich, unwrapping it, and taking a bite. Emily tilted her head up as she tried to calm her mind down of all the things she needed to do.
The one thing that caught Emily's eye was the clouds that blanketed over the sky in DC. She probably should bring multiple blankets to cover herself why she and Aaron drove to Yale.
"Hey, you," a voice said from behind her. Emily turned around and saw Aaron there with flowers in his hands. But the bright red roses weren't what caught Emily's attention. Aaron was dressed in loose jeans, a plain white shirt, and a baseball cap. "I got these for you."
