Chapter 9.

What do we do now.

All five of us huddle on the stairs of the main building looking for any promising escape.
One of zachs hands is still gripped tightly around my waist like he's scared i might float away.

"Where do we go?" Gray asks with fear trembling in his little voice.

Raptors surround every possible route we can take, just great!
The doors behind us which where once closed, burst open and out comes another raptor,
They hiss as they judge and study us and our every move,

Owen stands in front of us in a protective, ready position,
His rifle is pointing down as to not intimidate the dinosaurs, if only they tried not to intimidate us back.

"So that's how is is huh?" He questions his once beloved raptor friends.
He drops his weapon on the ground and Clare lets out a small scared gasp and rightfully so.

Owen reaches out his hand to the creature standing facing him cautiously observing the man's every move.
Tension fills the air and yet I can't seem to pull my eyes away from the potentially grave scene.

"Easy" he soothes the reptile,
It seems to listen as it relaxes, choosing to trust Owen.

The dinosaur grunts as Owen unbuckles the camera tracker on the side of its head, I can only assume it feels as good as taking a bra off before bed.
The dinosaur doesn't seem to be planning to attack us any time soon...hopefully at-least.

We all let a relieved laugh escape our lips,
A 'thank got we're not dinner' laugh.

Suddenly a familiar roar fills the air and drains any good emotion from our bodies,
The Indominas Rex is back for seconds.

The noise of its foot steps louden as they appear closer and closer,
Once again I'm paralysed with fear, a very common theme today.

I must've started to hyperventilate because
Zach softly cups my face with his hands and lifts it up to look at him and only him,
I feel like we've been here so many times before.

"Aye, cmon, look at me (y/n/n)!" he demands, there it is, the nickname he gave me in which he only uses when he wants something.
I follow his instructions and look into his eyes

"I know that you're scared.... but I won't let anything happen to you or Gray, we're gonna get off of this damn island, and I'll never mention the 'D' word ever agian"
I have no choice but to calm down, do I?

I pull my eyes away from zach and I suddenly wish I never had as The Indominas Rex stands right In front of us.

The raptors turn and look up, as the bigger Dinosaur attempts to communicate with the smaller ones.
The raptors look like they're thinking, almost conflicted,
Blue turns to look at Owen but then back to the Indominas Rex.
They start screeching at each other.

And suddenly the Indominas uses its tail to smack one of the raptors into tomorrow,
It crashes against a wall and falls to the ground.

I let out a gasp.
It seems the dinosaurs haven't came to an understanding.

"Cmon" I whisper under my breath looking at the raptor on the ground, mentally urging it to get back up and get on with its business,
Spoiler alert! It doesn't.

Owen whistles and the two remaining raptors jump onto the Indominas without any hesitation.
Kinda impressive,

As the Indominas Rex tries to fend the raptors off we see this as an opportunity and suddenly we're on the move again,
Barley dodging Dinosaur tails as they swing around fighting for their lives.
