"Begi—!" The referee didn't even get to finish as Daphne immediately launched her first attack.

BOOM!

CHHK!

CRACK!

CHHK!

"That was a tad bit excessive, don't you think?" Fele yelled from where she was mid-air, after she jumped to dodge the giant earth tower that was extremely pointy at the top.

She landed, gracefully at the tip, which her shoes and feet would've been impaled otherwise if she hadn't covered her feet with wind mana that made her lighter and helped her jump so high in the first place.

'Ha... this could be useful.' Fele thought when she saw something strange as she was borrowing the wind mana form her reserves.

The other participants may not have noticed, but the Captains, Yuno, Asta and Daphne definitely did. For some reason, this made Yuno smile instinctively, while Asta made all sorts of noises out of awe. The Captains, on the other hand, although they didn't show it, had been sent to a state of confusion and intrigue.

Daphne smirked. "I don't know, I would've been disappointed if you were caught off guard and beaten that quickly."

Daphne's grimiore flipped to another page as she raised her hand in front of her. Medium-sized chunks of the earth then started materializing around her, and with her command, they shot straight at Fele.

Fele squinted at the rocks coming for her before she launched herself off the tower and straight for the rocks.

SHIING!

RUMBLE!

SHIING!

RUMBLE!

Without even coating her sword with any mana, she easily destroyed the rocks one by one as she passed them.

'She's not gonna be able to hit me with attacks like this.' Fele thought.

After successfully destroying all the rocks blocking her path to Daphne, she swung her sword back as she surrounded it with fire mana.

CRACK!

Just as she was about to send a fire slash at Daphne, her left ear twitched and her eyes widened as she swiftly turned left mid-air, and positioned her sword in front of her defensively to block the large rock that Daphne had sneakily sent her way.

BAAM!

Caught slightly off guard with the surprise attack, she was pushed backwards a bit by the rock. It didn't last long, though, as Fele easily destroyed it. Although, she was sent back and landed on the ground from the amount of force she used.

'So far she's been using long-range attacks. I have to fight harder if I want to close the gap between us.' Fele thought as she and Daphne locked eyes after the dust cleared up.

"Ha.." Fele let out a small laugh.

'I didn't think I'd have to use anything else during this exam. I haven't even mastered it yet.' She thought.

Daphne's grimoire glowed a brighter light as it flipped to another page. "I shouldn't be warning you, but I'm done with my warm up now, Fele."

"Bring it on, Daph." Fele smiled as she took her stance, surrounding her sword with wind magic this time.

"Oh, I like that nickname. Call me that from now on." And with that, the ground shook as earth spikes started sprouting from the ground in a line, heading towards Fele.
