"Commander Johnson," my heart stops, everything around me goes still. Don't take him away. 7 years later I can still feel the same pain from those words. Remembering the darkness that came everyday after, and thinking everyday this might be the end. But it wasn't somehow I'm still here, still alive, and right now I have a mission to complete.

"Everything is ready sir," I hear a voice say snapping me back to reality.

"We will launch in 5, 4, 3, 2,-" I threw my shield stopping the solider's hand from hitting the button, "Oh well, well, look who it is my it's been 7 years since the last time I saw you and I'm surprised you didn't die after escaping,"

"You're not a big enough of a threat to kill me," I said, a man came up from behind me hit me from the behind then I turned around and kick him in his legs and watch him fall to the ground.

"I knew you would come. You've been a war hero from the time you where 4 years old. My god so advance for your age at the time. So I knew you would come to the U.S. army's recuse,"

"I was the perfect person for the mission to stop you from positioning them and then having your army attack as all of our men start to die as they fight them."

"Yes you are correct," he starts to walk over to the button. I run over and grab him he flips me over. I fall to the ground I kick his feet as I jump up. I grab my shield he try to hit me I block him with it. I turn around and throw him across the room.

"Where is he?" the question that has been burring in my mind from the moment I heard his name. He doesn't answer I kick him in the stomach and yell "Where is he!"

He starts to laugh, "Oh your little friend Charles," the way he said it made it sound like that Charles wasn't his son just a boy, "He's dead," I felt my heart drop. The boy who helped me survived as a prisoner in Germany was dead. When if anyone should have died it should have been me. I'm alive today because of him and he is now gone.

"You don't even care that he's your son. That shows what monster you truly are," I run forward and hit him with my shield. I watch him fall ti the ground.

As he starts to get up he laughs, "You're too late," I turn around and I watch a solider push the button. I run over and pull the button out of the machine as fast as I could. I turned around and kick the solider behind me I fight all of them off until each and every one of them are on the ground.

4 hours later after the mission....

"Only 50% of the men got sick from the gas," my mom tells me as she puts a cup of tea in front of me.

"It shouldn't have been 50%," I say to myself quietly.

"Carter what's wrong?" my dad ask.

"The man in charge of the positioning the soldiers was him," I didn't have to say his name my parents knew what I meant, "Charles is dead. I wasn't focus I should have stop them sooner," I feel tears fall down my face but I show no emotion with them.

"Darling," my mom puts her arms around me and her head on top of mine, "You did better then what most people could do. I know you want every mission to be a success but sadly not even one will be. And for Charles there is nothing you could have done, and trust me sweetie he knows that," then I began to cry louder as my mom held me. I'm so sorry Charles is all I could think of.
