Chapter 3

(3rd Person POV)

Tyler woke up to the annoying sounds coming from his alarm clock on his bedside table, groaning after finally deciding to get out of bed.
He had to start a new school today with his younger sister Kinsey while his other two siblings stayed at home for a bit.
He walked to Bode's room and felt a small tug on his heart to see his younger brother protecting their youngest sister by keeping her safe in his arms.
Tyler goes and moves a strand of Evelyn's hair behind her ear.
He shakes bode a little to wake him up for breakfast and Evelyn wakes up from bode moving.
Tyler picks her up places her on his hip and heads downstairs.
When he gets there he sees Kinsey complaining to their mum and bode already sat down for breakfast.

"Can't we just miss this week, we've only just moved in, bode and ev don't have to go in yet." Kinsey complains as Nina ( their mom) lays a plate of eggs in front of her.
bode was eating cereal .
"Look guys, starting a new school in the middle of the year might suck, but it also might not." Nina says unsurely as she is trying to collect herself.
Kinsey and Tyler just raise their eyebrows at her in curiosity.
Tyler puts Evelyn in the seat next to Kinsey as he always sits next to bode.
"Stellar pep talk mom"
Kinsey says with a empty void of emotion.
"Yeah, wait lemme write that down"
Tyler joked along with his sister.
"Am I forgetting anything?, permission slips? Ty, you have that hockey thing-"
Nina was cut of by Kinsey.
"Already turned it in , I forged your signature. And I sent the email from your account to the assistant head so we can get caught up on everything we missed so far." Kinsey explained
"Great, okay next time I got it.Just ask me, okay?" Nina said not getting a response when Duncan was heard coming in.
"Good morning guys, gotta head back to work in Boston. No fear uncle Dunc will be back tomorrow." Duncan said so energetically as he grabbed some coffee.
"Bye uncle dunc"
Evelyn says rubbing her eyes as everybody looks at her in awe of her cuteness, she was sweetest when she was sleepy, but not the kind of grumpy sleepy because then she's a devil.
Duncan came and hugged each Locke sibling as he headed out of key house.

"Stay out off trouble till we get back"
Tyler says to bode and Evelyn sternly grabbing the car keys.
"Okay"
bode says Evelyn just looks at him blankly.
"Ev!"
Tyler says
"I can't promise but I'll try"
Evelyn says will full confidence against her oldest brother.
"Bode keep her out of trouble and away from the well house."
Kinsey says hopefully.
"I will"
bode says
"Alright we love you two, bye"
Kinsey says
"Bye"
Evelyn and bode say back at the same time.
Evelyn and bode stood on the porch watching their uncle and older brother and sister leave.
"Sayonara key house"
Duncan says sticking his middle finger towards key house.
"Did you just flip off key house?"
Bode asks with a smile on his face.
Evelyn found this all amusing.
"There's more than one meaning to the middle finger"
Duncan tries to save.
"Like aloha"
Bode questions.
"Yeah, like aloha"
Duncan responds
"Aloha !"
Bode says sticking his middle finger up at Duncan,
Evelyn just laughs at her brother and uncle.
"See you bud"
"Bye princess"
Duncan says to the kids.

Kinsey and Tyler get in the car and set of for school when they arrive, the see a big building.
"Well here we are"
Kinsey says
"Yep"
Tyler answers emotionlessly
"See you at lunch?"
Kinsey asks her older brother
"I can't I've got hockey tryouts"
Tyler responds
"Oh ok, see you later then"
Kinsey says disappointed as she walks off.
"Bye"
Tyler says walking off.

...meanwhile at key house...

"Bode, please"
Evelyn pleaded with her older brother
"Ev, you know I can't Tyler would kill me"
Bode says trying to explain why it would be a bad idea.
"He doesn't have to know"
Evelyn says with a knowing look
"He always finds out, why can't we just hang out for once and not be in danger"
Bode says questionably
"Because that's boring."
Evelyn says with a huff as she crosses her arms..
Seeing as she knew she wasn't going to win she gave in.
"Fine we don't have to go to the well house"
Evelyn says rolling her eyes
"Good, then you'd be able to sleep in your own bed for a night"
Bode exclaims jokingly.
"Oh shush you love it really."
Evelyn says punching his arm playfully showing a rare, true smile.
