"Ordinary. Simpley and utterly ordinary." I told my mother as I looked at our new house.

"Alice, I am sure you will love it here. Besides we don't have much of a choice. After the divorce, your father left us with nothing."

I do suppose my mother was right, I'm going to have to "make the best of it." But it doesn't matter. Tomorrow I am turning 21. And I am going to move out to find a place of my own. But, I don't know how to tell my mother about this. Once I leave her. She will be all alone. It hurts to think about her living by herself in a "new" house. But, nevertheless this is my life and I can't live it for somebody else.

"Mom, I um, am going to....um, I am going to take a look around upstairs."

"Okay Alice." My mother told me with a smile planted on her face.

"Damit! What was that!  How am I ever going to break the ice about leaveing?!" Oh well, first thing tomorrow I will tell her. I have to. If I don't, then how am I ever going to start my own life.

I looked around upstairs. "What a dump." The walls were a grayish white with some patches of remaining wallpaper dangling off the wall. The previous owners must of taken the wallpaper with them. The floor was wooden and very squeaky. The window in the room had a small crack in the glass. No curtains, the room was like something right out of a Tim Burton's movie. Right by the window on the floor was a small business card laying face side down. Out of pure curiously I walked over and I picked the card up.
