Chapter 7
Peter’s POV
Getting out of another unfamiliar girl’s bed I quietly crept away trying not to make too much sound. I really am beginning to get really good at this whole sneaking out of beds shit. ‘It should totally be one of my talents’ I thought to myself and I walked out of the room and down the hall. Walking down stairs I found my pants and boxers sitting on the bottom step. As I continued to walk through the unfamiliar house I stumbled across my green shirt I had worn out last night and quickly put everything back on.
Walking out of the kitchen I found a notepad sitting on the counter in the hall way and decided to leave a note. Just so I didn’t look like too big of a jerk. Smirking to myself I scribbled down a few words. ‘Cindy, I had an amazing time last night. You’re a great root babe. See you round chicka.’ Pleased with what I had written I put the pen back down and continued down the hallway which I swear to god is never ending.
Eventually after what felt forever I found the front door in this mansion and opened it as far as I needed to without making too much noise. I was finally outside and as fast as I could I ran over to my Ute before Cindy or Candy or whatever her name was had a chance to come out and stop me. Turning on the ignition to my Holden Commodore SS V8 ute, I sped out of the long driveway and took off back home.

Walking up to the steps into the flat I kept trying to come up with excuses to get Charlie off of my back and save having any arguments. Hesitating before opening the door I took in one deep breath and slowly began to open up the door expecting something to be thrown at my head. But to my surprise there was nothing being thrown at my head actually there was no Charlotte standing up in my face, there was no Charlotte yelling at me but better yet… There wasn’t even one noise in the house. “Hmm this is strange” I said out loud to myself. I walked into the bathroom and began to strip off to get in the shower. I turned the hot water on and let the bathroom fill up with steam.
Huh, where could charlotte be? I mean it’s not as if she is familiar with the place hell she doesn’t even know her way around this street. Getting in the shower I let the warm water fall down my body, releasing all the stress I had built up. Letting my thoughts run wild one thought never left my mind. Where was Charlotte?
Jason’s POV
I walked up to the hospital doors, unsure as to whether or not to walk in through the doors and go up and see her. Letting my worries go, I continued to walk through the big glass doors and into the bacteria filled hospital. Once I made it through the doors the only noises that I could hear were the sound of a baby screaming and a man yelling at one of the nurses. Ha Yep. Screw working here.
Once I reached the reception desk I asked what room Charlotte was in. “She is in room 232. Oh and honey? If you need any sort of comfort throughout this difficult time any sort of comfort at all, I’m here at any time if you need me” the nurse Jackie let out in a sexual tone. Mentally rolling my eyes I gave her my best smile and kindly took her number. ‘Defiantly going in the bin’ I thought to myself as I continued up the hallway to the room Charlotte was in.
Walking up to the glass filled room I couldn’t help but notice all the tubes that were attached to her, along with all of the chords and machines she was hooked up to. She was as pale as the white bed sheets she laid on and looked as though she was already dead. A wave of worry flushed through my body and in the moment all I wanted to do was go up to her and try and wake her up. But I knew better than that. I knew it was impossible.
Noticing the doctor that I had spoken to last night I quickly ran out to him to ask a question. “Hey doctor?” I whisper yelled, so it was loud enough for him to hear me. Turning around he began to walk over to me he gave me an apologetic smile. “Hey young man. Your back?” why wouldn’t I dickhead? “Yeah why wouldn’t I come back? She is my sister after all!” I lied trying to show off my best poker face so he didn’t know I was lying. “But I actually had a question for you!” raising an eye brow at me he spoke “sure what is it?” he asked me sounding very curious. “I was just wondering if anyone came in last night or today to see Charlotte?” Giving me a suspicious look he finally answered me. “No. nobody came in to see her. Nobody has called either.” Looking down I sighed.
As if growing impatient with me he quickly told me he had to go and walked off leaving me in thought. ‘Why would nobody visit her? Does no one know she is missing? Or does nobody care?’ I had so many questions that I needed answered but I had no way of getting them. “Damit”
Walking back into Charlotte’s room I pulled up a chair and sat right down next to her. I gently touched her pale hand placing it carefully in mine and rubbing her arm soothingly up and down. Her skin was so cold as if her insides were ice. But yet her skin was so smooth, almost like silk. Her hand was so tiny in mine almost as if I was holding onto a child’s but yet somehow, it fitted perfectly into mine.
It felt like I was sitting in the room for hours just looking at her tiny beaten up body and was in deep thought thinking about what might have happened to her when a light nock come across the door and frightened the shit out of me. Quickly turning around I was greeted by one of the nurses. She seemed like she was very nervous.
“Sorry to give you a fright but I just came to check on her and see if there has been any changes in the past hour. Is that alright?” she carefully let out sounding unsure of what my reaction would be. “Yeah no of course that’s fine” pushing my chair back I got up and let the nurse go where she needed to go. All I wanted was for everything to be okay and for Charlotte to wake up. There was just something about her that drew me in. And I wanted to get to know her better for that.
