~Present~
Alice -
The streets were crowded but like nothing you've ever seen before. They weren't filled with crazy shoppers looking for a bargain in the centre of Manchester, no it was more like mothers rushing around and dragging their incredibly bored teenagers around with them. I guess that's because I wasn't in Manchester anymore I was here in Diagon alley buying a never ending list of equipment for Hogwarts. After my mother went missing i was forced to move schools to Hogwarts, which was now my permanent home.
I never even knew Hogwarts existed until now.I watched as people my age and younger rush from one shop to another. Others meeting friends from school which made my heart sink. I was going to be in my fourth year at high school and I would be the new girl which no one knew and was a loner. Great .... In going to have no friends. Which suddenly made me remember
"I never had any friends at Brookside so why would it be any different here ?"
All my thoughts were banging on the walls of my skull as a tall bearded man approached me.
"You must be Alice Parker"
He said with a beaming smile.
"Y-yes that's me."
I smiled awkwardly up at him.
"We'll come on then we best get going if we are going to get all your things on time".
I was told that a Hogwarts teacher Hagrid would be helping me find my stuff as I had no parents and I didn't know anyone who attended Hogwarts. Hagrid helped me out as we one by one slowly collected my equipment, everything from cauldrons to wizard spell books and all of a sudden I didn't feel too well.
"Hagrid, do you think I could take a break im just a little overwhelmed"
He looked down at the list and back to
me." yeah you have a rest I can get this last lot in no time, don't you go wandrin off"
He said to me as if I was a little girl and he walked into the crowd of shoppers. I needed to get some space away from all the noise, I went down some dark streets ending up outside some depressing shops which had matte black doors and fogged up windows. I didn't feel safe so I turned to leave the dark street when I bumped into someone and fell to the floor.
"Oh sorry"
Was my natural reaction without looking who Id walked into.
"What the hell do you think you're doing ! Watch where your going"
A tall blonde boy with bright blue eyes angrily towered over me frowning.
"Sorry I didn't do it on purpose"
I said just as angry at how rude he was. I got up and brushed the dirt off of my shirt and he looked shocked at my reaction.
"What at you even doing down here?"
He said with a scowl on his face.
"Just wondering"
I said looking around not wanting to admit I was lost.
"We'll stay out of my way"
He walked around me and into the mysterious shop.
"Alice.... Alice I told you not to go wandein you can't be down here"
Hagrid called out from the end of the street and gestured for me to follow him.
"We have finished with your things now"
He said too happily, why was he always happy ? It was irritating.
"Right well off to Hogwarts tomorrow, good luck"
He smiled and left me in a spare room up in a wizard hotel, where most of the students who lived to far away from Kings Cross Station stayed or in my case had no parents stayed before going to Hogwarts.
