The Secrets of Syntec

Prologue

Ben sits on the bench of his cell facing the wall. He quietly thinks about everything that has happened to him in the past. He starts with his time in Syntec and ends with him being captured by a group a youtubers and thrown in jail. His mind lingers on a familiar name in the back of his mind. Someone he hasn't been able to see or talk to in over seven years. Someone he cares dearly about.

The sound of footsteps pulls him from his thoughts as he sees the familiar faces of Matthias and Sam, two of the youtubers who has been on his trail since they started working for Deb, a scientist he worked with at Syntec.

"I told them you wouldn't mind" Matt says after he walks in front of the cell.

Ben looks up at Matt from his spot in the cell before looking over at the camera in Sam's hands

"See look at that he's a natural" Matt says. Matt then pulls a chair over and sits down in it. "So" Matt says getting nothing from Ben. "I'm a little confused now man. You were the one that wanted to talk to me, and I came all the way down here and now you're just not even talking at all" Matt starts to get a bit frustrated before changing the subject "it's a nice tattoo man. super scary. What's that like? Uh do that yourself or something or?"

Ben continues to say nothing as he sits there.

"Okay how about this" Matt says as he pulls out notecards. "We do a soft start. Ease into human contact with some questions from" Matt gestures to the camera "Them. You cool with that. He's cool. Yeah. What is the absolate?" Matt asks. Ben continues to say nothing. "Do you have anyone you care about on the outside?" Matt asks. Ben continues to stay quiet. "You know they said coming in here. They told me that you didn't use your only call."

"She couldn't answer if she wanted to.." Ben says.

"Who? Deb?" Matt asks.

"No" Ben answers.

"Then who?" Matt asks again.

Ben sighs slightly before answering "Y/N" He answers.

"Who's Y/N?" Matt asks.

"I think that was a name within those employee files Matt" Sam whispers to Matt from behind the camera.

"Someone very special to me" Ben answers.

"What happened to her?" Matt asks.

"He took her away from me" Ben explains shifting slightly as he remembers what happened.

"Who did? Weasley?" Matt asks.

"No. Nelson took away her away from me almost 7 years ago" Ben answers. Ben reaches into a pouch that was sewn into the strap of his mask. He pulls out a picture.

"Is that her?" Matt asks gesturing to the picture. Ben gets up and holds out the photo to Matt. Matt takes the picture before Ben sits back down. Matt shows the picture to Sam and the camera she was holding. "Why would Nelson take her?"

"To use against me" Ben answers. "Nelson knows that I will do anything to make sure she stays alive and unharmed"

"I'm really sorry man" Matt says handing the picture back. "I wish there was something we could do"

"Maybe there is" Ben says as he takes the photo back. "Let's make a deal"

"What kind of deal?" Matt asks.

"You and your audience find her, bring her to me and get me out of here and I will help you with anything you need" Ben says.

"How can we trust you?" Matt asks.

Ben quickly launches himself to the bars of the jail cell. "Let's just say she helps me see clearer. She's my ground." Ben explains as Matt backs up from the bars. "Would you not do the same for your Wife?"

"Fine you have a deal" Matt says.
