However, though this world lives in a time of peace and prosperity, there is another world which suffered a darker fate. In that other world, there lies a dictatorial state known as the Empire State.

The Empire State is an empire formed after the Great Unification War which is the equivalent of World War One in our timeline. However, the atomic bomb was developed much earlier here, and production of it led to the entire earth being destroyed.

Skies clouded by eternal dust storms. Oceans filled with poison. Earth, a minefield of ordnance unexploded. For decades mankind has scarred their world. Yet they have prevailed. All nations were united by Fuhrer Adler Grimm, forming a prosperous Empire State.

However, one nation eventually broke off with the Empire State. It was known as the nation of Krux. Many bloody offensives against the Krux rebellion have been fought by valiant strike commanders in their forts, all leading to Fuhrer Grimm betraying them and the strike commanders joining the Krux side. However, one man ended it all. That man is known as Brian Mahogany.

Mahogany crushed the nation of Krux under his iron boot just like the others before him. However, just before Grimm could betray him, one of Mahogany's men assassinated the fuhrer, leaving Mahogany as the unopposed new Fuhrer of the Empire State. Sure, the people weren't too happy about this, but with excessive force and propaganda, they slowly and gradually grew to like him.
After ending the bloody perpetual war in his home dimension, he fixed many problems of the Empire State by adding economic reforms, new laws, and more equality. However, Adler Grimm said that "war is peace" because it united the people. Soon, Brian found himself dealing with an unstable country and he decided that it was time to start a second perpetual war.
Brian lived in a generation where the research of other dimensions was number one priority. Thanks to this, the Empire State knows that other worlds exist. They were able to build a working interdimensional portal to other worlds in case they needed to research them. Brian knew about our world and how it was better than his. As such, it was the perfect place to start a perpetual war. After all...
...It is perpetual war that leads to perpetual peace.
