7.

We raced round the corner and came face to face with a young boy. He stood over the figure of a second young man, and appeared to be trying to shake him awake. I rushed over to him.

" What happened!? "

I asked the petrified boy.

" I don't know miss! I was only walkin' past when I heard a scream. I found 'im lying on the ground. "

By now The Doctor was beside me. He frowned and pulled his 'sonic screwdriver ' out of his coat pocket. He began scanning the boy.

" Dead. What ever killed him left him here to die. "

I looked at the young boys face his eyes were wide open, gazing at the sky. I could see the thousands of stars above reflected in his eyes. His eyes that would never again see.

(Time Skip)

The second boys name was Robert. He was kind enough to let us stay at the inn he helped own for the night. The Doctor had decided we had better stay the night. He had said that something 'didn't feel right' about the boys death.

I went back to the Tardis to get some of my clothes (accompanied by The Doctor) and my toothbrush. We ended up having to share a room. The last had been taken by a Young man in a fez who flashed me a charming smile before walking to his room.

The room was alright, but a spider lurked in a corner, spinning its web ominously. I looked around. One bed.

The Doctor was busy scanning the place with his screwdriver. After finding nothing out of the ordinary, he sat down on the bed, which let out a cloud of dust.

I stared out of the grimy window at the grey sky. I can see all the rooftops of Victorian London from here. A thought crosses my mind.

" Doctor. "

"Mm?"

" What if that Robert did kill that boy? "

I turned to meet the Doctors brown eyes. He thought for a second before shaking his head.

" No. His face when we found him. He was scared, not guilty. That boy was killed by someone else. "

I shivered and tried not to think of the other boys eyes. He looked so young.. Probably only 15 or 16.

" What age are you Doctor? "

I had no idea where that thought had came from. I suppose I wanted to know a bit more about him. He frowned.

" I think... Nine hundred and three. Give or take a few. "

I choked on air.

" What!? "

He laughed at how high my voice had gone.

" I'm a Time Lord, Y/N. I age differently from humans. I don't die like you do, I just regenerate. "

His voice was sad. I wondered why. We were interrupted by a knock on the room door. The Doctor jumped up to answer it.

A elderly woman stood at the doorway. She held a lantern that illuminated every crease and wrinkle on her face.

" all lights out by eight. And no talking. We don't want to alert The Creeper. "

The Doctor went to say something, but the woman was already walking away, a sour look on her face.

I raised my eyebrow at The Doctor. He grinned in response.

" so, uh, what are we gonna do about the bed situation.. "

I said nervously. The Doctor looked puzzled for a second before he looked behind me at the bed.

" Oh! Right! You can sleep on the floor. "

He said bluntly. My eyes widened.

" I will not! "

He smiled and jumped on to the mattress like a child.

" well hop in then! "

I smiled in response.

"we have to go get changed remember. "

I frowned.

" or are you planning to sleep in the suit..? "

He shook his head, and walked into the bathroom. I sat down on the bed, waiting while he got changed. He returned in a pair of blue striped pyjamas.

I quickly got changed into my own crimson pyjamas, before walking out. The Doctor was already in bed. He looked at me and patted the space beside him. Why was I being so shy? I slipped into bed beside him.

I sucked in my breath. It was one hell of a tight fit. The mattress was like a rock, and the sheets were itchy like sandpaper. I reached over to the table beside me, and turned the lamp off with a click.

This was the beginning of an awkward night.

I woke up several times, due to The Doctors need to spread out all over the bed. He spent the entire night sleeping like a baby, meanwhile I had to deal with the uncomfortableness of it all.

How very rude.
