When someone tries to hurt you...

I got out of the car as I chuckled hearing the kids laughing and screaming inside...I could hear the helper screaming in the background asking them to be quiet.

As soon as I opened the gate there was pin-drop silence as all the kids looked at me... they all ran to me and hugged me making me drop all the stuff I had got. 

"Noonaaa it's been so long...We missed you" 

"Unnie what did you bring for us?" 

I opened my bag as all of them gasped seeing the cake pops I had made for them...they all ran and sat on the table obediently waiting for me to distribute it out. 

I chuckled as I gave one to everyone...I looked into my box to find two cake pops left...both of them were different from all the ones I had made...others had sprinkles on them but this one had two bunny ears. I looked around as I tried searching for Doo Hyun...I looked at Mrs Melanie the owner of the orphanage as she sadly smiled at me and pointed to the sleeping room. 

I took the cake pops with me as I entered the room. 

He was sitting there all alone while looking at the window...He could hardly speak...but whenever we did he would speak to only me. He was just 3 years old. 

I know I shouldn't have favourites, but he indeed was my best friend here...

His mother had dropped him off here...I saw how he hugged his mother's arm...not wanting to leave her...I saw how his mother roughly jerked his hands off and threw him on the doors of the orphanage...

"Hey love, wanna have a cake pop with me?" 

He nodded as I sat down on the floor. He had immediately come and sat on my lap making me giggle...He held the stick with his small hands as he started chewing ...

"I-hweard- your gett-ing marri-ed" He said as he looked at the floor. 

"Yes baby I am...but that's not going to stop me from coming here," I said while wrapping my hands around him. 

He nodded as he kissed my cheeks and continued 

I looked back as I saw Melanie standing at the door. She looked worried. 

I put Hyun down as I walked to her. 

"Why do you look so worried?" I asked as she burst out crying. 

"It's his father right?" I said 

Soon after Do Hyun was left here by his mother, his father had come to pick him up...he sure was his father...but he was an alcoholic...the only reason he wanted Do Hyun was so he could get him to earn some money for him. It had been 6 months since he had started coming here. He used to fight with the staff to let him take Do Hyun...I was the only one in his way. I told him that Do Hyun would definitely get adopted...He is a big lawyer and he could easily take Hyun away with him. But he was not good...he has been involved in many rape cases and child abuses...but he always gets away because of his job.

I tried my best to find the best foster parents for Hyun, But none of the parents wanted him, he hardly spoke or opened up to anyone.

I looked back as I saw his dad, Mr Joon coming towards us. 

"Wow what a surprise to see you here y/n," he said as he came very close to me. 

I stepped back hating the smell of alcohol coming off him. He was drunk. 

"I heard you are getting married...after you get married...your gonna have your own kids...then there is nothing you can do for Do Hyun..." He said as he tried peaking into the room 

I stood there shocked...He was right...even if he filed a case against the court he would definitely win it. No one knew that he was an alcoholic...his friend was a judge, he would defiantly make him win the case...he had been threatening us for a long time.

He came closer and closer to me...But I was busy thinking about what to do. 

He suddenly pushed me as he got inside the room. 

I got up from the floor as I ran behind him...

I picked Do Hyun up and put him behind me. 

"Its no use fighting y/n you know you can't do anything" 

"Get away from us, I will call the police...just stay away" 

"What will the police do hmm," He said as his hands were now on my cheeks.

I felt uncomfortable but I knew I couldn't do anything...I saw a knife in his hands...One wrong move and he could hurt both Do Hyun and me. 

I closed my eyes...as he bought his face closer and traced my face with the knife...I flinched as the cold metal touched my skin. 

Hyun was sobbing behind me as I protectively held him. 

Joon was suddenly pushed to the floor as I looked up. 

"YOU FUCKING STAY AWAY FROM MY WIFE YOU BASTARD, HOW DARE YOU" 

I saw Taehyung beating up Joon as tears flowed down my cheeks...I wasn't one to cry...I never cried in front of anyone...but right now...Hyun meant the world to me...I would never give him up to anyone...he didn't deserve all of this. 

I went to Taehyung as I touched his hand. I was holding Hyun in my hands as he was crying in the crook of my neck. Taehyung punched Joon one last time before he got up and held the both of us in his hands. 

I cried louder as Taehyung held the both of us and took him to our car...

I felt ashamed...I felt ashamed that I cried...that I showed everyone how vulnerable I was...I was ashamed that I couldn't protect Do Hyun...I was afraid I would lose him...

Taehyung drove us to a nearby park as all three of us sat on one of the benches. 

Do Hyun was peacefully sleeping in my arms as I wiped my tears and sat quietly next to Taehyung. 

I knew what I had to do...I had to do it even if it hurt me...even if that's not what I want...

"Let's not-continue-with this marriage Taehyung".
