i was sitting in class waiting for the bell to ring. i quickly shoved my notebook and pencil into my bag to pass time. once the bell rang i made my way to the door.

"ready to go see mr loverman, george?" sapnap laughed.

"sapnap stop," i said seriously.

"what? am i not allowed to spend an extra three minutes with my friend?"

"if you want it to be like that then sure!" i confidentially joked.

"okay then, what does he look like?"

"tall, brown hair, and hot," i stated.

he didn't say anything. i turned my head over to sapnap just to see him looking at everyone in the hallway trying to figure out who it was. just as we got to the corner of the hallway i saw him. i didn't say anything, though. i didn't want sapnap to say anything to him.

he secretly tried pointing to someone, "oh my god it's him isn't it?"

"that's not him," i lied. it most definitely was him. he was still far down the hallway.

weirdly, sapnap started to walk closer and closer to me. this only forced me to move over more. seconds later he started to laugh. it was a quiet laugh as if he was trying to hold it in. i looked at sapnap trying to figure out why he was laughing. in the process, i had accidentally run into someone.

"oh shit, i'm-" i looked over to see who it was, "sorry."

this fucking sapnap guy. who let me be his friend? this was his plan all along. this fucker made me run into him. he did this on purpose.

"oh, no worries. you're good," the tall one said.

once we had walked past him i looked at sapnap. "you bitch."

"oh you're welcome," he chuckled.

"why would i thank you for that?"

"i just did you a huge favor," he answered. "now maybe he'll talk to you again. you know staring at him in the hallway isn't going to get you anywhere in even becoming his friend."

"i guess you're right, but that was so embarrassing."

that was the first time i ever heard his voice. it was exactly how i imagined it. the only way i could describe it was average.

"thank me later, georgie"

"we'll see about that," i replied briefly. "except how the hell am i supposed to talk to
him again? like i doubt he's going to randomly come up to me in the hallway and want to talk to me."

"i guess it will be a surprise."

"i have a feeling that means you had no plan at all, and only wanted to do that so you could tease me."

he laughed without a reply. we walked into our classes which were a few doors away from each other.

at the end of the day clay had stopped me in the hallway just before i got to walk out of the door. "is it okay if we work on the assignment today?" he asked. "i'm sorry, i don't want to fall behind."

"oh, sure. if you want you can come over to my house and we can work on it."

"that would be awesome, thank you."

"of course. i'll text you," i spoke as i walked away from him.

now o had to figure out a way to get carter out of the house for a couple of hours without making him suspect anything. i knew that if he saw clay at home we would get mad. that's just how he was.
