I am BEGGING you PLEASE listen to "Crash" by EDEN and look at the lyrics because it's literally Bowie and Morgan like EVERY WORD AHHH (and it might make you cry BAHAHA)

Bowie: 24
Morgan: 24
Harley: 3
Jordan: (age fluctuates throughout chapter)

December 24 2040 (5 days after Jordan's birth)

"You okay?"Bowie whispers, looking over at Morgan who's holding her deflated stomach in her hands, trying to prevent it from jiggling too much with the car as she miserably looks out the window.

"No,"Morgan murmurs with a big sniffle, wiping her eye with her pawed hand, her sweatshirt pulled over her hands as she refuses to look at Bowie.

"Do you wanna talk?"Bowie asks. He knows they're not anywhere near where they used to be, but he also knows that they're not quite as bad as they were when their separation first happened. Normally, before the separation, he knows Morgan would be very open with talking about what was going on in her head. They were best friends. They were so used to telling each other everything. But, he knows that he knows they're not quite there yet.

"I don't want to leave her,"Morgan sniffles, clenching her eyes together as her lips wobble, more tears rolling down her cheeks as she continues to look out the window.

"I know, I don't either,"Bowie quietly agrees with a sigh, resting his cheek in his palm as he puts his elbow on the windowsill.

"She's too tiny,"Morgan whimpers, finally looking over at Bowie as more tears roll down her frostbitten cheeks that are pinching on a red hue. "And if something happens to her while we're not with her—"

"Hey, nothing's going to happen to her,"Bowie promises, taking his hand off of the steering wheel, but quickly catching himself before he can reach over towards Morgan. That would be crazy. Absolutely crazy. They were very touchy during her delivery, but that was only for comfort. The touching has yet again decreased. "Besides, she's with the nurses, they know a whole lot more about how to deal with her breathing than we do."

"That's true..."Morgan warily agrees in a little whisper, fiddling with her fingers in her lap as she sighs heavily and leans her head back against the headrest of the seat.

"We get to go back to the hospital tomorrow,"Bowie offers, trying to peek a little hope into Morgan as he continues to steal glances at her, watching her curl further into herself. "As soon as we wake up we can go. I'll come and pick you up and—"

"You're not staying?"Morgan murmurs, looking up at Bowie before she can catch herself and realize what she just asked. She wants to mentally slap herself as soon as the words register in her mind. They register in Bowie's mind at the same time, she can tell by the look of pure shock on his face as he snaps his head over to look at her, trying to see if she's pranking him before catching himself and trying to get a neutral look on his face again.

"I—"Bowie stutters, feeling his heart pound against his chest as his throat goes dry, "I didn't think you'd want me to."

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have assumed, I just was thinking—I dunno..."Morgan trails off, her cheeks immediately blushing as Bowie looks over at her and shakes his head.

"Hey, yeah no problem, I'll stay,"Bowie quickly promises, offering Morgan a little smile that she returns cautiously, "it's no problem."

"My mum said she'd stay, so if you don't want to you don't have to—"Morgan whispers, connecting her thumb and pointer finger around her wrist just as she always does when she's nervous, except, now there's no friendship bracelet for her to fiddle with. Her little wrist tan that she had year round is gone.
