Bowie: 24
Morgan: 23
Harley: 2 1/2

June 2040

"Daddy!"Harley exclaims, jumping up from playing with her legos in the middle of the living room and running towards Bowie with a huge cheeky grin, a big gap showing between her two front teeth.

"Hi princess,"Bowie greets with a matching big smile as he drops his backpack onto the floor and squats down with his arms wide open to catch Harley. "I missed you while I was at work! How are you?"

"Daddy, I went to the park!"Harley bubbles as Bowie sets her on his hip and nuzzles a kiss to her rosy cheek.

"Did you?"Bowie asks with a big smile, rubbing her black hair that's falling out of it's pigtails back with his palm of his hand. "You're sweaty, does that mean you played hard?"

"Uh huh, I went down the slidessss,"Harley babbles, her little arms wrapped around Bowie's neck. "Mumma went too!"

"Did she?"Bowie asks with a gentle grin, pressing another kiss to Harley's lips. "Where's mumma?"

"Kitchen,"Harley says, pointing towards the apartment's kitchen.

"Hey,"Bowie greets, walking into the kitchen with Harley on his hip and finding Morgan standing at the counter a cutting up a few red bell peppers.

"Hey,"Morgan whispers, not bothering to turn around and greet Bowie. It doesn't matter anymore. The less they talk, the less chance they have in ending up in a fight.

"How was your day?"Bowie asks, trying to act casual because he'd rather not have the night end in a fight like last night.

"It was okay,"Morgan simple replies, carrying the cutting board over to the stove and pouring the bell peppers into the steaming pan to make fajitas. She turns around and looks at Bowie, tucking some of her baby hairs behind her ear as she smoothes out the top of her ponytail. "How was yours?"

"Okay,"Bowie nods, swaying his hips and dropping his cheek to the top of Harley's head. "The premier for the movie is next Saturday if you want to come. I can get my parents to watch Harley."

"Yeah sure,"Morgan murmurs, turning back to the stove so that she doesn't have to look at Bowie anymore, but she can still feel his eyes staring into her back. She knows how important his work is to him. That's one of the biggest barriers between them. He loves being a director...almost too much in Morgan's opinion.

"Are you still mad at me?"Bowie asks, staring at Morgan's hair that reaches all the way down to her lower back, even in a ponytail.

"No,"Morgan simply replies, not giving him much evidence to believe him.

"Can we at least act happy for the little person in the room?"Bowie asks with a sigh, looking down at Harley who's looking between her mum and dad with a curious expression on her face. She's too little to understand what they're fighting about, but she knows they're fighting and they both know it's having an effect on her.

"I am acting happy,"Morgan brushes him off, turning around and making grabby hands at Harley. "C'mere princess, let's get you washed up before dinner."

"Am I still on the couch?"Bowie asks with his toothbrush in his mouth, walking out of the bathroom and finding Morgan scrolling through her phone as she sits against the headrest of the bed. It's not their bed anymore, it's just a bed.

"I dunno, Bowie,"Morgan sighs, not bothering to look up from her phone as she continues to scroll.

"Well can you give me an answer so I know where to lay down?"Bowie asks again, his tone raising a bit in annoyance as he leans against the doorway of the bathroom.
